I just ordered and picked up a 16' from Newline. My order was simple in that I wanted a 6'6" tall so that was probably pretty easy to get. They were able to get it in 3 weeks. I feel like most of what they sell is standard configurations but I don't know that for a fact.Okay, so I’ve reached out to 61 Trailers, Newline, and Hall Trailer.
I’m getting tired of waiting for a response. Not sure anyone wants to do the work to order a trailer for me.
Here’s the spec list:
Any recommendations on other trailer companies?
- 28 foot long box
- 8.5 feet wide
- 7+ feet inside
- Beaver tail
- Cam-bar locking mechanism on doors
- Tandem 5200 torsion axles
- Electric brakes on both axles
- Dual escape doors
- Man door curb side front
- Recessed E Track - floor mount 60” on center
- Electric jack
- Stabilizer jacks
- Interior lights
- Extended tongue
- Salem vents
- Charcoal exterior
- .040 outside skin
- Roof vent/ or AC framing for future AC
Also, any suggestions on things I haven’t thought about or that I don’t need? I realize that’s really subjective, who NEEDS 28 feet, but that’s what I WANT.
Thanks, Steve
The guy at Newline told me he sells every 16' he gets, my guess is the margin is about the same on a standard config and it's less work than selling a custom so they just let them slide. Thanks Greg, I used their online contact form and all I got back was a marketing email asking me to visit their local dealer??? Why have an online contact form???
Hall trailer emailed and said they would “reach out to their rep”, it’s been a week…
61 Trailers got me an initial quote on a 24’ in a couple of days, I asked them about a 28’ and have been waiting since August 26th for a quote. I sent a “just checking in” email after the first week and every two or three days after that. I stopped doing that last week.
There was a sales development speaker at a business group I belong to last week, part of his process is to secret shop his clients. He stated that only 20% of inquiries even get a response. I believe him.
But if you can make up margin with volume, with little to no work it all comes out the same. But if it’s margin %, a more expensive trailer = more margin dollars. Just sayin
Very true, however it doesn’t seem to be that much extra work to get a quote from the factory and order it, BWTHDIKBut if you can make up margin with volume, with little to no work it all comes out the same.
Now that’s an idea, thanks.Steve, in stead of an overhead a/c unit have you given any thought to a mini split unit. I say this because my nephew put one on his race trailer and it works great and on the plus side it has heat.
I totally agree. The trailers that Newline sells are Yellowstone, on the Yellowstone website they describe a race trailer package that might include some of the things you are looking for. Maybe they would be more responsive to ordering packaged products. But I'm sure you would still have to add some things.Very true, however it doesn’t seem to be that much extra work to get a quote from the factory and order it, BWTHDIK
Plus, as a former business owner I know that ill-will is seldom worth what you pay for it.
Kinda what I figured, thanksSteve the condenser is on the tongue of the trailer
