Jim Coupe Update

Here is my video for go-karting the coupe for the first time. All went fine with no leaks. The most surprising thing was the amount of small gravel that ended up in the interior from the front tires but I'm not complaining, it was great to see those tires moving.

That's awesome. I'm sure that was a large weight off your shoulders. I know it was for me. Now it's just adding all those pesky details. Thanks for the video

Awesome Jim!!
We finally have a Coyote in the club.
Won’t be long now and you’ll be cruising.

Soooo, any updates Jim?
Currently working on trimming, sanding, and fitting the body. The hood is mounted and 85% complete, the driver’s door is 95% complete, and the passenger door is about 60% complete. Next step after passenger door is installing the rear glass hatch, tape the windshield in, and then get the hood, body, and doors lined up and tightened down. Included pictures showing holes that need to be cut in doors for internal door frame, door window frame, door latch, etc. The one picture shows the aluminum strips that need to be fabricated in my case (thanks FF forum) for the doors so they fit appropriately.

Any updates Jim??
I’ve been out of commission for quite awhile, ended up getting lower back surgery a few months ago. But now on the mend.

Coupe is getting close to starting the process of making it road legal. Still need to install the rear hatch glass components, side exhaust brackets, finish some cockpit upholstery before reinstalling the seats, fabricate my removable dash top, and some miscellaneous items. I bought a 65 year of manufacture plate.

Looking for advice/help with my coupe.

I need to transport my coupe to the highway patrol for first step of getting it licensed and I have zero experience with loading a car on a trailer. I was planning on renting the u-haul vehicle trailer with their pick-up truck and I have been watching all the u-haul trailer videos. My concern is with my coupe possibly bottoming out in the middle of the car when it is half on trailer and rear still on ramp. I was planning to raise the rear end of towing vehicle to lower the trailer ramp angle.

The other option is to raise the ramps to decrease the angle. I was in the process of building the following wood ramp when I watched a YouTube video this morning that freaked me out. A guy was loading a corvette with similar wood ramp setup. His front wheels went up fine but right when the drivers side rear wheel was about to go onto the metal ramp the tire shot the wood ramp backwards out from under the metal ramp and it got real ugly. I don’t know that I need this many boards under ramp(3 2x8s) for my coupe. Any advice/suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Here is my latest video of my coupe with the body on.

Looks good Jim. I think with a slight raise in the ramp, you should be fine. I thought.a couple of members had done this for their cars as well.
