Grafton Cruise Sun. 5/31/09 @ 11:00AM

I'm out for the cruise. Something came up here at home, and the car is running a little rough. I can't put my finger on it - but something is off. I'll take it in to Mastertech this week. You guys have a good time, take some pictures, and be careful.

Cheers !

The address of the McDonald's Rest. in Alton is 717 E. Broadway, Alton, IL. 62002. Meet & Greet @ 11:00am. Be there or be square. :)

I will try to meet up with ya'll in the afternoon. Can't make it this AM. Sorry
Orlando

I'll be there. I may be a couple of minutes late, but will try to be on time.

Great Run Today on...........................

the World Famous, often imitated, never duplicated Loggerhead Turtle Run! We were dodging Loggerhead Snapping Turtles all day crossing the highway because of the back waters from the rivers. Thanks for coming: MikeW & PatW all the way from McCleansboro, IL.(British Racing Geen Superformance); Bruce & Debbie (Red w/blk stripes Superformance) from Bellefountaine, Mo); MikeW & MaryW (Blue FF5); KarlS & his lovely wife; JerryH from Troy, IL.; CraigR from Highland, IL. and yours truley & his lovely wife TerBer. Great food at Mel's River Dock in Hardin as usual. TerBer had Baby Rat, Mary had fried allegator fritters, I had possum stew, MikeWI had turtle soup, MikeWII had gizzards, Bruce had frog legs & Debbie had Missaslopi oysters/mussles Yummie! :D I passed on the boiled skunk, that's where I drew the line! Next time I'm gettin the hog nuts/rocky mtn oysters! :D Great's senic views of the confluence of the Missaslopi & the Illinois rivers from Tara Point Inn way above Grafton where the eagles soar. Great company & a great time thank you everyone. MikeWII took the picks & will email them to Mark for posting. Later.

So, no issues with the ferry's I assume? Sorry I missed it. Had to clean up the after party mess around the house.....don't ask.

Absolutely Loved CraigR's running lights & JerryH's wheels. The ferry ride across the ILL. river @ Kampsville was fun & gave me an opportunity to clean windshields for $$$$$$. Thanks Bruce & MikeW for generous contribution to starving Lawyers anonomous.:D:p:rolleyes:

For the lawyer

I will call lifestar ambulance and see if they will put bill boards on the sides of there ambulances for dave. I think that will keep him from washing windows for $$$

Great time guys, can't wait for the next one. And no one else needs to worry for the rest of the summer, I think I killed all the bugs out there, they were all on my windshield!!!

Yep, same place I got mine too. They do send a nice complete package. Your's look great. Can't wait until I'm back on the road and I'll be able to see your car.

Diane and I also had a great time. I got a little too tired towards the end, and I can always tell that my driving and attention suffer when I am tired. Therefore I am not as safe of a driver. Or it could be slight dehydration which is supposed to have the same effect.

I got some sunburn, and hope none of the rest are suffering too much from this. Seven Cobras are a good number for such a cruise. Large enough to be impressive, and small enough to keep together and not overwhelm restaurants and other stopping spots.

David Virgin is a hoot! If he isn't trying to attract the police with burnouts, he is cleaning windshields on the ferry! Some day he may need a good lawyer......

:D:D

Wife and I had a great time...what a bunch of great cars...it doesn't hurt that happen to have some very special cars either.
We put a little over 400 miles getting there and back. Wife kept saying something about her butt hurting...don't understand myself.
What a great meal we had....thanks Dave. He was very gracious to buy for all of us wasn't he??? I guess the windshield cleaning gig must pay pretty good in Alton, Bethalto area.
I would like to do this same cruise in the fall when colors are changing. We would drive over the nite before next time....12 hrs in the Cobra was a bit much for me .
Mark, for your info I averaged 18mpg with a small block...had to get that dig in.
Mike W I or II or III...I am not sure...Dave is doing the counting on the Mike thing.

I get 16.1 with the Big Block, you aren't beating me by much :D Looked like an awesome day, that's all I could think about on the drive back from Louisville. Sorry I missed Dave buyin' :D

Great Cruise with great people. How can it get better than that? I played golf at Rend Lake Golf course in Benton, IL. today & will play another 18 tomorrow with MikeW from McCleansboro,IL. :D

The thanks go to you Dave for inviting me...I had a great time with you and your HS bud's.
Crazy bunch of guys....that is why I liked it. When I went to pay my fees, the pro was bewildered...had to convince him that I really did owe him for my round.
I think I will get oversized grips put on my clubs so they don't slip out of my grip when I hit a bad shot(or maybe the lanyards like on the WII controllers)
Mike
