To those who may not be in the know, Rich Schipper took ill on the SuperCruise and by the time he got home, it had escalated dramatically. To the point he went to Urgent Care where they admitted him to Saint Joe's West in Lake Saint Louis. He had surgery Sunday evening/Monday morning at about 1AM for a perforated colon. Sounds like they got to it just in time.

Talked to him at length this morning and he is doing a lot better but still in some pain as a result of the surgery. Said he will be in the hospital for another 5-7 days and then in recovery at home for 4-6 weeks. Very lucky guy.

Said when he got home, he parked the truck and trailer and immediately got in the car to go to Urgent Care so everything is still sitting as it was when he left Harrison. Told him we'd have a "club day" when he gets home and wants to unload everything. For now, it is all fine just sitting where it's at.

Will keep everyone posted as we learn more

Paul

ps: Rich, if you're reading this, don't hesitate to call any of us if you need anything. Remember pumping that air bubble out of your cooling system? Wonder if the car felt the same way as you? :)

Stopped by the hospital and saw Rich today at 1pm.
I walked in with Mike and Gary dropped in a few minutes later.
Like Paul said, he's doing better but in a lot of pain from the surgery (emptied the pain meds while we were there).

Glad he made it in time, could have been worse if an infection set in.
He's on the road to recovery, but this one's going to be long and slow I'm afraid.

Hate to hear this about Rich,:( but glad he's doing better. Rich if you are reading this you have my number if you need anything and that's anything at all.
get better soon buddy

Rick:)

He Txt'd me back after lunch today and said he was feeling better and "things" started working.
He said he has plenty of reading material.

I know Rich doesn't have a laptop, does anyone have an old one he could borrow while he remains in the hospital? (I'm asking, not Rich) ;)
At least he could pass time surfin' the net and checking out our cool PICs.

Hey guys, they freed me on monday about 4 pm.. I'm doing fine, just nothing feels the same and won't for some time. They removed a section of colon, so I have to wear the bag for the next 3 months. Then a surgery to reattach things back to normal. I just turned 63, and this was my first hospital stay, I DID NOT LIKE IT.
Sorry I missed all the after hours fun. Thanks everyone for keeping an eye on me on the cruise, and your well wishes
rich

Rich,

I just read this. I hope you are feeling better. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Let me know if you want to get some things done.

Bob

Things to do……:rolleyes:remove engine & tranny from #2; remove same from #3; convert #3 engine to #2 specs; recondition tranny #2; combine #3 engine with #2 tranny; reinstall this combination into #2; replace jeep MC with Ford Cobra MC, add residual brake line check valve in front lines.
Disassemble engine #2 for rebuild to 331 stroker :D:D:D:D

Yeah, hospitals suck. I'm glad to hear that your timing for this whole episode was pretty good overall and that you are now on the mend. Feel better soon. Tom

Rich, glad to see all your forum posts! Shows you are indeed feeling better.:) Remember I don't live that far away so call if you need anything? (excluding your earlier post though) :D Mike P.
