I would like to take my car to the local carwash and blow off the undercarriage. Lot of Grime and road deposits.

Does anyone have an old fashioned set of metal ramps that would work with a cobra to get it raised up. It's just too low to the ground to do this effectively

Looking to borrow, will bring back 'all clean'

Idea? There is a brushless self serve car wash here LSL...has a strong under carriage blast....drive in get the blast handled and then back out...obviously do not proceed with the wash cycle...get the blast and then back out... it’s a start... as you know I cleaned the bottom of GRACIE with Brake Clean and shop paper towels...took awhile but all done... I bet there are some local self serve brushless drive in washes near you...that you could try this out...also you are welcome to the lift... and want some help cleaning it underneath.... glad to assist...... just let me know...

I typically use engine degreaser or the green stuff, whatever it's called, to clean under car grime. Hard to reach areas I spray and let soak or drip off. Putting the car on jack stands seem to be my best alternative.

Bob, I'll take you up on it. Also can drill holes you need, I haven't forgot

Ian, good idea, but most of those types of car washes have them moving track that pulls the car through. I don't think Paul wants to run i through, but just in-case you decide to, PLEASE have Cindy record it for us! ;)

Yeah, I've put mine up on jack stands and cleaned it with Green Stuff, but REALLY MESSY and that shit dripped all over me. Very hard to avoid and watch your eyes, I knocked some stuff in my eyes and it was painful. Or get with a club member and put it up on a lift for a belly clean.

Not the one I am speaking of in LSL. Its a drive in type....no track pulling car...bottom blaster....after that process asks you drive forward...in our case - Reverse...and we are done...could do it more than once also...I think would work nicely...

Four cans of brake clean - box shop rags-towels .... one hour of time... and you’re shinning....soap/water bubble bath...blow dry, and then quick clay bar and you’ll need your “dark sunglasses”....you saw my service cart...I am the SHINE MASTER....funny part is I LIKE DOING IT!

Paul,

Let me dig the ramps out. When do you want them?

Forget drilling the holes for now. I need you to help me wire my AC!

Bob

Well, not so sure how well this worked?

Driveway and I got reeal wet, undercarriage only partially clean. Took forever get the cobra on the ramps, they wanted to keep scooting.

And when I went out for ice cream later in the evening, had to have Tim fix my car as it wouldn't start

Think the next step is to let Ian do his thing. Think he'll do it for a case of Diet Coke and four cans of brake cleaner?

One can always hope.

Next page.

Yep, you're on....goodness partner, seems you made it WAY HARDER than it really is...I know you just wanted to play in your driveway....still got the under carriage blaster...run a couple times, then on to the lift for some hand cleaning; need 4 Cans Brake Clean / Need one Box of Shop Towels (paper throw away type) I have gloves ..... 2 hours and you'll be shinning! You pick the day and time....piece of cake!
