Anyone wanna go out Thursday night and play - 7/28.
We usually get there about 6:30 or 7pm.

??

AccuWeather says 0% chance of Ice, 0% chance of snow, 1% chance of moisture. 80 degrees

Is Chesterfield Valley within my ever enlarging circle (comfort zone)?

:)

Paul

ps: should I bring the Cobra or the Ricer? which fits the Thursday night crowd better?

The mazda would fit better, but, we like to stand out :D I'm thinking though, no matter what you bring, us 'old' guys will stand out in a crowd of 40 kids

Hey, you live by the "broadening concentric circle" theory too? Save my butt 2 times already. I may show up but the cobra is still in the garage waiting on parts...it is really shiny now, though.

Oil Leak

Made it home. Looks like it is the left side hose leaking at the fitting connection. Gonna replace the hose and try again.

Sure is fun to get the toy out and about

Paul

ps: forgot that I never aimed the headlights. I know there are some squirrels that are seeing blue spots right now

Cool (sarcastic of course). Now we just about have all fluids covered. I have the coolant, you have oil. Now let's all hope that none of us gets hit with a brake or tranny fluid leak. Clyde is next for shakeout, so he gets to pick which one he wants :D

It was a good night. Paul's car looks great. A lot of nice compliments and questions from young folks.

One neat thing that gives me some perspective is that all of them are really hot rodders. Even though they use Scions, and Hondas, and BMWs - they all have pride and knowledge about their cars. They spend as much money as possible to make HP, to make exhaust notes, to make cool paint schemes. Pretty cool.

A question I get a lot is - Is that a 427? They know that 427 is a famous number and they may even know that it represents cubic inches. They may think that it represents horsepower. I'm not sure that they know that 427 converts to 7 liters - a number that they all can relate to. And when I tell them - No, it's not a 427 - it's a 588 - I usually get a confused nod from most. Maybe if I added that it's a 9.6 liter they would understand.

Also, I always get at least one that points to the shiny thing between the seats and says - so you run nitrous? I say no that's a fire extinguisher. Now if you think they would be bummed out and express disappointment - no - their eyes usually bug out and you can see them say under their breath - Oh My God.

We always get somebody who talks about their computer chip upgrades, their turbos, their lowering kits, their cat-backs, and that's all cool. But then they ask about our HP and we say well 500, 600, 650 and no computers or turbos and they kinda get it. And then one in the crowd asks - how much does that car weigh? When we say it's about 2600 lbs - they get it.

We've all been to car shows and it's fun. But, to hang out with the younger car guys is fun too. Fun night tonight. I'll guess about 250 people there. Maybe next week a few more old guys can join us.

Mark, Linda & I are headed up there now if anyone wants to come by. Great night! :D

Tomorrow night would be a great night to be out. Anyone want to meet up there tomorrow?

Mark, Steve and I will be at Sonic Chesterfield Valley if anyone is itching to get out like us. 6pm. Not a meeting, just to visit/catch up.

Well, that was fun...got to take a ride in a street legal go kart :D even the big 588 couldn't keep up in the twisty's. That Lotus guys, is one impressive machine

The lotus might be great on the track, but the cobra is killer on the street and is more eye catching. I've literally had my car on the same parking lot with Feraris and Porches and the crowd is at the cobra. Keep the Cobra and play against him on the track twice a year. Even Steve is keeping his cobra and the lotus is going to be primarily a track car. Just my $.02

Steve,
I'm glad you understood I wasn't down on the Lotus. It's a great car and I'd love a ride sometime too. Wish I could have more toys as well. Tim IS the purple cobra right now and I think it suits him to a T. I'd still like to see a mtach up between you car and his cobra on the track too. Hopefully I'll get to see that someday.
