Curious minds want to know…

Here's what happened.

Last Fall, I had called Holley enough about the Holley Sniper in the Coupe, that they gave me an upgraded Holley Sniper 2. (The issue was the throttle hanging at 2200-3400 rpm with no mechanical interference.)

I worked with Paul for months to install it correctly. I got it running and it was better. However, now it was jerking at 1100-1700 rpm with no load.

Finally, I gave up and made arrangements with Richard Nedbal at FASTMAN EFI to tune it remotely. That was set up for Aug 5. with light rain scheduled for that day. Aug 4 came and I realized the USB/CAN cable for the unit and laptop was incorrect, and a heavy thunderstorm collapsed my awning and tarp setup.

Two days later, with the correct cable I spent over 3 hrs. with Richard tuning the Holley Sniper 2. Paul came over to hold my hand so I didn't do anything stupid, and to interpret engineer speak for me.

Richard went over everything on the software, made sure all the settings were correct, got the engine to run extremely smooth, checked acceleration all the way to 6500 rpm, found the throttle plates were not opening completely, told me to get off my cheap behind and buy a new battery, and told me to fix the throttle plates so they opened completely. Only then was I supposed to go put 100 miles on it.

I fixed the throttle plates and put in a new battery and headed to Cavid Cabral's garage party....bad idea...never made it in coupe. The throttle hung open at 2400-3400 rpm and the AC didn't work.

The accelerator cable now has a mechanical obstruction.

So that is where I'm at.

Hope you get it all worked out. Sounds like a long frustrating ordeal. Good luck.
