For those of you that live on God's side of the river
I just received a letter from the assessors office that used the NADA to value my 1965 AC 428 2 door convertible based on my VIN#. They valued it at Low retail of $69,700, Average retail at $99,000 and a High Retail of $154,300. The letter said if this wasn't the value on the car, to please forward a copy of the original Bill Of Sale (which, luckily I had) showing what I paid for it so it will now be assessed based on that value (which is still substantially higher than last year). For those of you that don't have a Bill Of Sale, the letter states that you can provide:
- Bill of sale
- Pictures or estimated cost of damages (they are assuming since you want to lower the assessed value, there must be damage)
- Copy of historic registration
You can wait until 7/2 to file an appeal. I will quiz the contact that I have and see what you guys that assembled your cars can do, not sure how that will/can work out.
