Spots, Dermatologist and Cars

Believe it or not, they all have something to do with each other. I've had these spots on my arm and now on my face that I suspect....well, isn't supposed to be there. I will see a Dermatologist on 4/29 to find out what they are. I don't think anything too serious, but will probably hear the dreaded words...."you need to stay out of the sun". Will be finding out if sunscreen is enough or not from the Dermatologist. Sooo, we'll see. Having said that, I stopped at Fastlane today and Dave has some great attractive stock right now. The most attractive, to me, was this - 2003 Viper - or this - 2009 GT500KR

I've never driven a Viper or a new Mustang before, so kind of interested to see how they handle. They both have tops, A/C and it might be possible for Linda to drive....

On a separate note, he had a Camaro T/Z - A Camaro with a Trans Am body kit on it. Had the honeycomb wheels and it actually looked pretty cool :D

Between the two - take the Viper. When you pull into a parking lot there won't be 40 of them parked there.

I know, kind of what I was thinking. I thought it is a great looking car. Can I get in to a Lotus for that much?
 
300rwhp 1900lbs should run really well but no A/C, whats up with that (high 80 and humid) HA!
How bout mid 90 to100 and very humid now thats what I'm talking bout. Go with the Viper

Tim, take the spots seriously. If caught early, the risk is VERY low.
Less than a year into my build (in 2011), I went to the dermatologist for the first time (on my birthday in fact!). I was having something completely different being checked, but my wife wanted him to look at a couple other spots while I was there. (yep! she had been bugging me for years to have them checked and I procrastinated).
He wanted to remove a couple as precautionary and have them biopsied, but one on my back / shoulder blade had him really concerned and he scheduled and emergency appointment for the next day to have it removed. He took a pretty good chunk out and I had to have a couple stitches. The biopsy came back as early Melanoma (Malignant Melanoma, Clark level 3, Breslow thickness 0,87mm, to be exact). Another appointment was scheduled and this time he took out a pretty good chunk and a lot more stitches.
Everything is ok now, I go for regular checkups, and wear hats and sunscreen and try to wear long sleeves (or really apply the sunscreen heavy).
We went to Cancun 6 months later and I sat under an umbrella on the beach the whole time and avoided the sun :(.
Could have been worse, so I am thankful!

Get your spots checked!
btw, I'm also looking into a bikini top for my roadster.

hmmm, Shelby or Viper? tough choice. I prefer the look of the Viper, but the sound of the 500.
 
One of the reasons I built a coupe. I have a routine followup exam next week for maintenance of problem areas. I like the viper for the rarity but prefer the z06.
 
Tim, if I was in your mindset :rolleyes: and considering buying another 4 wheel toy (in addition to my Cobra);) :D then the Viper or Z06 would both get a serious look. I too would give the edge to the Viper due to the rarity and closest characteristics to the 427 Cobra. For tracking, I understand the Z06 hands down.

Paul, I suppose Mark will be wanting to show off his bikini top at London in June so we may have to still bring Tim's stripper pole.:D:eek:
 
Man, I didn't realize my stripper pole would be such a hit with you guys :p I've asked on FFcars, but does anyone here have Carfax? Wondering if you could run one for me?

Mike, this won't be an addition to the stable....I've been told we have a 2 car garage and one spot is NOT mine :rolleyes: Man, did the kitchen remodel for nothing :(
 
You can make a BIGGER garage no problem. Mike brought up a good idea, you would look good in a coupe. 85,000 and no IRS WTF.

Tim, it would be a shame to have to store your Viper in Rick's garage cause I'm sure you weren't planning to sell the Cobra! ;) :D But...if you did, I'd think Mike wouldn't mind another coupe in the club! :rolleyes: Mike P.
 
Man there goes the neighborhood. So much for exclusivity! Actually the coupe is difficult to tame and make civilized. Even with windows and Ac you get hot and wet....cold not so much.

I could see myself going the civilized route further down the road. Did the pantera come with Ac?
 
I have always admired the Pantera as well. Beautiful Italian looks with an American V8! :) Gott'a love it!! Should have AC but probably not as civilized as what Tim's considering. Hey, at least a Viper would keep him in the reptile family. :cool: Mike P.
 
That's what Linda asked me...."will we lose all our Cobra friends" I said no, we're still in the snake family :D

I don't know where I'm at or why I'm checking....change of pace I guess. Surely I can slather on enough sunscreen on these spots....right?

ok, it's got a GT500 5.4 w/Supercharger, but geez. I don't get it. I'd rather have a side-oiler for that dough. Ouch!

For coolness, I LOVE the Pantera's and I've seen some excellent examples lately. I think there's a company that restores & upgrades them. They look bithcin', but probably not the track car you are after. I think you'd do well in an LS powered Miata! More than enough V8 power, a roadster when you want, water tight, and A/C! And stealth!

What's your criteria? Are looking for WOW factor? (Viper) track manners & DD? (Z06)
 
I saw the factory five out at Omer's when I went to talk to him. he was still trying to get it running and dynoed. I'm curious what it came out to. it had some nice parts on it to be sure. Very unique, but i don't know if it is THAT unique.

Paul, I was wondering when someone was going to make the analogy.
