So, had my Mohs Surgery today on my basal cell spot on my face. The visible bump was 1/4" long x 1/8" wide. Took them two tries to get it all, but they did. Before they sewed me up, I wanted to see what it looked like

I was a little taken aback to tell the truth. The spot, is now a 1" diameter by 1/4" deep crater

How in the hell were they going to be able to sew this up I thought. When she came in, I was, well, a little concerned. She explained she would pull some fat from my cheek to fill the hole a little, pull some loose skin away from my nose, under my eye and my cheek and make a nice 'L' shaped area to sew up. I'm thinking I'm going to have stitches, skin grafts and all kinds of stuff....I mean, how was she going to fill up this hole! Well, considering how much my face is swollen, it actually looks pretty good. Sorry, no pics, but it's the grossest thing on a human i've seen in person. So now, bandaged up for the next 48 hours, then care to keep it dry until the stitches come out next Wednesday. Have to sleep propped up tonight to prevent some swelling, so will probably not be a good night for sleep.
So, lesson learned.....don't want to do this again.
