Shelbyfest - Hermann

Bummer

Once again the annual Shelbyfest coincides with the SOMO Regional Track and Field event at Rockwoods Summit HS.
Matt competes every year. 2 years ago we met the Shelby entourage all along I-44 as we headed east to Fenton. At times the Mustang density in the west bound lanes made it impossible to even count! What a show of pony/snake power!

You going??

I'll go check your car out if you go. I don't have a show car anymore, but it like's to play one on TV :D

Too many scratches, chips, slung oil, and burnt rubber. Track days are fun, but take a toll on everything else.

Go IS Show

PV - don't be too hard on the beast. To show the car is driven and driven as Shelby intended, is to show that you truly love the trophy bride, I mean ride.:)

I say go, Tim. Go, cavort with the ponys and snakes in Hermann, go represent the darker side of the Cobra family, go proxy the presence of the people with purple powered pestilence in the park. Just think, you should have no qualms about pulling a "Mark" down Main street. What could it hurt??

10 minute hold

I am in a holding pattern, pending weather.

Depending on the site you use, could be raining all day, could be chance of storms, could be sunny and 68  Sure wish there was a weatherman who knew his stuff

Probably will make final decision Friday but still planning on going

Paul

ps: Kevin, if you're reading this, I'll try to call you tomorrow

Ok, I will touch base with you Friday night. I don't plan to register, just plan to go and walk around.

I will be meeting Paul at the Phillips 66 at 100/109 at 8:20 tomorrow morning before we head on out to Hermann. We plan to leave there by noon. Anyone else?

Mine will be open I'm sure. We should get there about 9:30 and I plan to leave around noon.

Met Paul, Cindy, Mark and Mark around 8:30 and we headed to Hermann. Got there about 9:45ish. Nice ride down and I lost a hat for the first time since I've had this car. Thanks to Mark E, it was retrieved from the road :D Once we got to Hermann, there were a ton of Shelby Mustang's on either side of 4th street. We actually got great spots as there was a brand new parking lot we were able to park in. Jim Dooley came in a little later so GCC's display was complete (I didn't take pictures, but I know Mark P did).

I guess the most interesting cars there were the retro build cars from retrobuilt.com. The white Boss Mustang was really nice looking. They are based in Marshfield, MO and have begun selling their cars through Fastlane. The kit is an additional $39,900 on top of the car  Looks nice though.

We met some members from MACC out of Kansas City. They wanted to know if we were going to join them for their Branson trip and I invited them to our Nw Arkansas trip. We'll see.

Met a guy that makes all type of vinyl stick on's and he said he would work with us on pricing assuming we had more than one order. We left a little after noon, and I had a great ride home until Defiance where I caught up with a guy who thought it was cool to be driving his late 90's convertible Trans Am 45mph in a 55mph zone :( Anyway, here are a couple of pics:
