Tim, post a uship listing for comparison quotes before making any travel plans. You are not committed to using uship until you accept a shipping bid. You will still have the option to cancel the listing and pick it up yourself. Will bet you a bag of Linda's favorite Bar Mix that uship can get the trailer to you cheaper than going and getting it yourself!! ;):)

Thats a bet I'd almost take. I tried them once, they wanted stupid amounts. :(

On uship (like eBay) the listing is an important part of your success. You want to give as much information as possible about your item and give shippers enough flexibility to be able to come up with backhauls and hopefully other items to ship with it. That makes it profitable for them and cost effective for you. The first few responses to a bid listing are either canned or shippers just fishing. It may take a few days for serious bids to come in. You can also include a target freight rate to cut through the bidding process. At all times, you are not obligated until you accept a shippers bid.

I've used uship on 5-6 items including a boat from FL and a motorcycle from PA. All were lower costs than what it would take for me to go get them and that's not even including the value of my time.

I will check Mike....but, not sure I want to do that as I may want to at least look at the trailer first. I mean, I know it has damage, but also wanted to check that it isn't more than just fender damage. He's willing to meet me in Stroudsburg, PA wich will cut off about 95 miles off the trip :D December 4th is the pickup date, leaving here 12/3. Hoping to get home late 12/4 so I can sleep in 12/5.

Well, while in Harrison, I bought a Serpent Express :D I thought I lost it as someone apparently got in before me, but that deal fell through, and I was able to snag it. Only problem...it's in Long Island, N.Y. Road trip anyone? ......

Mark Dougherty is driving a truck(with a trailer) from Hershey PA to Springfield MO toward the end of the week.. You might want to check with him to see if there is anyway he could handle it.

His PM box is full. Do you have an e-mail address for Mark?

So, ending up going to get the trailer myself. I was a little nervous completing the deal without seeing the trailer firsthand. Soooo, I will be leaving next Thursday 12/3 around 6am hoping to arrive in Stroudsburg, PA around 8pm CST.

Anyone familiar with this route? - https://goo.gl/maps/C69Gsgi1ZJs

Driven the route multiple times - both when my daughter lived in Morristown, NJ and then it is the same route but shorter to her home now in Cleveland

This is a different Lowe's and route than what you first discussed. Have you changed meeting points? When we would go out, we generally used the Pennsylvania turnpike rather than I-80. little bit straighter shot and the roads are a little better.

?

Paul

Nope, this is the one I have written down. Weather looks ok, rainy, but too warm for snow :D I'm open to the easier, straighter or faster way.

Looks like I-80 is the choice.

In Winter, I-80 can be very bad, but it shows less construction than the Turnpike

PA Turnpike is kept clear in the winter, but it is showing much more construction and will add $60 to the trip in toll fees.

this is the PA Road construction site: http://www.projects.penndot.gov/projects/ConstructionMap.aspx

Just hope we don't hit snow

Paul

Summit Racing is about 400 ft from Exit 29 on I-76. We will be able to see it as we drive by.

9-1/2 hrs from this end (we lose an hour) or 5-1/2 hrs from the other end

Great place for a slightly longer than normal Potty stop

Kind of like the old Sears Christmas Catalog except you can walk through it and get "INSTANT GRATIFICATION"

:D

Jegs is right off I-71 in Columbus too :D See you Thursday morning....6AM, maybe a little before

Trailer is in tow on the way back :D

Looks good. I bought a tarp, just haven't been out to put on yet. This option much simpler than the tarp.
