I went on a poker run with my neighbor yesterday and we had a great time. We saw some great curvey roads and I saw a nice stone bridge in Cuivre River State Park that would be nice for some pictures. There were some scenery that would take your breath away and some great curvey roads. Went about 250 miles or so. We went up toward Lousianna Missouri and then headed back down. The car was a big hit and they raised some money for a new place for Veteran's family's to stay while the veteran is being tended to at the hospital. Kind of a Ronald McDonald house for Vets. I had a Miata and a BMW hanging on me for a while until I got to a long straight stretch going up hill and it was clear for a visual mile. We quickly went into the triple digits and left them momentarily. They caught back up when we started hitting the curves again. The main problem was not knowing the road and what was coming next. They said they were just watcvhing my roll bars. At the next stop the came up and I found out the guy in the Miata had run a road course in tulsa the week before and won his class. I thought something was up. when the miata was hanging with me through the curves. Of course he was just following me and I was giving him a read on the corners. it was a lot of fun though. Phil, my neighbor ended up winning the poker hand with 3 kings and I won the 50/50, so it was a great day. We got caught up in a down pour on th way home and pulled into TGI Friday's on Olive to wait it out and got home around 5 yesterday. I kept the route instructions for a later date.

Sounds like great fun Dan, I'm glad you got your oil pressure thing figured out so you could go. I don't know if you have a GPS but my TomTom (of course) is handy for seeing what's coming up over the next rise in the road. A quick glance shows which way it's going to turn or if there is a straight section ahead. Great piece of mind once you learn to trust it.

Thanks guys. It was a blast. The GPS is a good idea Tom. It's the trust thing. Maybe if I had a better model. Hmm... I won $150 in the 50/50.

They introduce so many new GPS units every day that the nice older models go unnoticed. I paid $175 for my 130S a little over a year ago and now you can get a new one on EBay for $78 shipped. I really like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-TomTom-ONE-...d=ViewItem&pt=GPS_Devices&hash=item3cae2acb24
It's small and has a nice compact suction cup mount that works well in the cobra. I stick mine on the Speedometer.
