Ozark International Raceway !!!

Man the view from on the track give a much better perspective. The earlier shots made the track look very narrow. Looks like a fun run.

Bob, not sure if you need clarification or not so I'll throw it out there

When you come into a corner at speed and downshift in preparation of going thru the corner, you need to increase your engine rpm to match that of what it will be when you are in the lower gear. If you just downshift and let the clutch out, it's like putting the brakes on. If you've matched rpms exactly, you remain at the same speed, but in a lower gear and higher rpm. That way you're ready to power thru the turn

Clear as mud?

Perfect description Paul.....and this track looks very cool, hope we can set up a cruise there... little planning stay over at the lake, lots of places to do so...hurry up springtime! I have a serious case of Cabin Fever...which I ask “2021 KICK OFF MEETING”....gonna be a yea or nay...?

I went back and listened to it again. With these hearing aids it sounds more like a transmission gear clanging, but I guess it's just the engine revving. :D

That is what you're hearing. That is a non-synchronized transmission. Pure track transmission, straight cut gears, most likely. You can beat on that thing with a sledge and it'll just laugh

Okay, I get it now!

Hey, track junkies - any updates on Ozark raceway?

From what I can pick up on social media looks like they installed curbing and still have to lay another layer to the track.

NASA Central have noticed and are in talks with them for trackdays.

I intend to drive up there next time I go to the Lake. It’s 21 miles from my house. Hopefully I can get a tour and talk with them about a Cobra event to help promote the track.

Interesting! Just saw this today on NASA Central website. Ozarks is on their schedule for June 2022 (possible HPDE event?)

Good to see events beginning to be scheduled

Thank you for the update Steven! May 21-22, 2022 looks like a good weekend to spend at Lake of the Ozarks!!
