Congrats Big Guy! If you ever need help modifying that footbox, I know someone in the area who has already done this on one
Wipers are required...but many have them that don't work. No fault of the owner...it's just these fineky old units give out over time. See if Fast Lane can do your inspection for you and get around that requirement!
BTW - When I moved to STL from Denver in 2005, I used the services of a car transport company to pre-ship one of our rides here. We self-moved, and there was too much to take in one trip. I think if you go online, and do a google search, you will find many options. I went with a open carrier, and it cost me something like $500 in 2005 for the trip (850 miles door to door). But you can specify a closed carrier transport (about doubles or triples the cost).
The other option...is to drive down there with your Chebby truck, and rent a U-Haul auto transport trailer (1-way), and drive it back yourself on the trailer. Just don't cover it up with anything when you trailer, i.e. tarp, cover, etc. (ask me how I know). That's how I got my first kit car from San Diego to Denver. It was to say the least, and very interesting 3 days...but I made it back in one piece!
I look forward to seeing this beauty in person. Wouldn't mind looking at some of the dash mods to inspire my build (although I think I just about fit in my ride now)...
