We'll start out early Saturday morning from South County and wind our way thru Southern Illinois. Some very interesting topography, cross the Ohio into Kentucky and end up spending the evening in Evansville, Indiana. Hampton Inn & Texas Roadhouse right next door and who knows what the evening may bring.

Sunday morning will bring an equally interesting ride back towards home, ending up with a group outing at HoffbrauHaus in Belleville. One night out, no need for a trailer. Come join us for a good sightseeing cruise

I will plan to attend! But, my business merger is looking like it will be moved back to 5/15 and my family leaves for a cruise on 5/23 so not sure what that weekend may bring??
 
Our timeline has us at this point, but unfortunately, just after lunch rather than at sundown. Interesting shot:

Unfortunately I am not able to drive a manual tranny for several months due to rotator cuff surgery. I'll have to pass on the cruise. Hope you all have a great time!

Let's see, if we drove real slow, and hooked up a rope & pulley system . . . just thinking out loud

Spring Cruise 2023 Room Info
We've made arrangements with the Comfort Inn, Evansville East for a block of 10 rooms. Those planning to go should call and make a room reservation for themselves.

(original plans were for the Hampton Inn but I didn't feel the $200+ per night was acceptable)

Reserved on line ( did call but “PinJob” was difficult to understand with the heavy Indian accent) done and will adjust the fee upon check in….completed 4/22/23
 
Sounds like a great time…. Interested but need to see if I can get the time off, and we‘re currently doing some work to the Cobra, so there‘s a chance we would need to go in a different car, is that ok ?

We drove the route last week - MAJOR route changes are coming - Don't make any reservations yet -(if you have, we'll figure it out next week)

Never realized Illinois has gravel roads and Indiana has MAJOR traffic issues - and both areas have a major lack of services.
 
There were enough issues with the routing, once I drove it to make me change the path. We'll overnight in Paducah rather than Evansville since the return options are slightly better. Route the first day will be almost the same, just turn right instead of left at the 3/4 point. Our return trip on Sunday will include a stop for lunch in Perryville at MaryJane's Burgers and finishing up in Columbia, IL at an ice cream shop.

NOTE: route changed - Perryville not included.
