Misfit Toys at Gateway Saturday June 5

Tom texted said the starter was replaced, but, didn't fix the problem. He was replacing good starter relay next

That is a cool setup Steven! I imagine that would be a HUGE help to familiarize you before you even get to the track! VERY nice

thanks guys. yes incredibly useful for learning the track before the actual trackday, especially since Iracing tracks are laser scanned.

Steven, I'd like to know more about your IRacing Rig, that is SO COOL! (I'm a PC tech nerd). Did you build it? Any info would be appreciated.
I know Tim was looking into them a couple years ago.

btw, I wanted to ask, what is the best fuel level to run on the track? 1/2, full, otherwise??

I usually run full tank (just don't top off); typically you run in the higher RPM range for extended periods in sessions

Hi Mark, I didn't build it, I bought it a while ago when Direct Drive (DD) was in its infancy. My DD motor and control module (with emergency stop button) was from Australia, Custom Tilton 600 series pedals from a guy in Nebraska, Obutto rig, DSD boxes, Buttkicker Bass (rumble packs) equipment, quick release steering, HRS touch screen. SIM racing equipment has evolved a lot through the years, below are some of the websites.

Ricmo Tech

Assorted equipment site 1

Assorted equipment site 2

Heusinkveld

DSD button boxes

SIM CUBE (If i was to upgrade my motor this would be it)

And rigs (SIM LAB)

If you want more details we can talk during the trackday

update from Misfits:

Gates open at 8am (need to adjust meeting time at gas station)
Long pants and long shirt not required (I highly recommend wearing long pants and long sleeve shirt)
Before you unload your stuff after you park, go to conference room and sign paperwork first
Don't miss drivers meeting (more info presented there)

Appreciate the update Steven. Since gates open at 8:00 instead of 8:30 let's meet at the gas station at 7:45 instead of 8:15?

I am in the process of trying to take Dave's spot (Tony's friend). We are in process of trying to get that paperwork sorted out.

In mean time:
- I've looked over the Vehicle Tech Checklist
- Changed oil
- Upgraded to high temp Dot3 brake fluid (496F)
- Checked all fluids.
- Tony and I are doing a look over the Cobra Thursday evening at Tony's house
- Buying Helmet Wednesday (tomorrow)
- Going thru all of these thread...

Plan to meet everyone at the Truck stop by 7:45 Saturday Morning

-Scott

I will see you inside the track around 8:30 or 9, gonna be running late anyway

Link to VIDEO in case you missed it. Skip past the drama in the beginning.

Wow....it’s only a track day eh? Feel like we’re off to battle on the front lines, keep your head down...stay focused so you don’t end up in a body bag....geeez... should be fun ...I said SHOULD.... we shall see.... see ya all at Truck Stop early.... thanks...!

Scott, glad you're able to join us!

The goal for Saturday is to be SAFE and have FUN! :D

It will be a great time and we will all learn a lot. But, to make sure it goes as smooth as possible, we need to pay attention to Steven and Tim who have the most track experience. :)

Besides Ian, who else is getting track day insurance?

Hi Rich,

I typically get trackday insurance and was slated to get it for this weekend if I had my car. I usually go through Lockton Insurance but there's others (Hagarty, RLI, Opentrack, OnTrackInsurance)

I just contacted Lockton Insurance and since they could not find the event or racetrack in their system, they would not be able to offer coverage.

Ian - What Insurance company are you using for your trackday insurance?

I did not get the insurance...figure not needed... just don’t be lame or stupid....no need to drop $500
