If you want to have a heart attack, throw out a bid on Ebay for an old truck and watch as no one else bids.

Its a 1965 Ford F100 shortbed with unknown mileage (broken odometer). It has 352FE V8, 3 speed automatic, p/s, p/b, and dealer installed air conditioning. Upholstery is not original, but in good condition, and a lot of the interior gauges and switchgear is non-operational. The engine runs rough and my mechanic suspects a burnt valve. If confirmed, the engine is getting new hardened valve seats and, probably, a full rebuild since its apart.

The body is in decent shape for an old truck. No big rot or rust. I like the old used truck vibe and I dont plan to restore it. I just want to make it safe and reliable to drive to the Home Depot or the local Dairy Queen cruise nights.

I LIKE IT! My Grandpa had one just like it with a White top and Red down the side where the chrome is on yours. Explain the first line of your post above....did you buy the truck and tried to flip it or owned the truck and tried to sell it?

Tim,
That's how I bought it. I never expected to win the auction. I threw out a low bid and, sure enough, thats all that was needed.
Hopefully it will be in good enough condition to drive it to next month's meeting. Gene

I like it. My buddy has a 66 4x4 all tore down restoring it now. It was his dads old farm truck.

Gene found out it isn't an 352....all indications point to a 427 :D :D

The engine seems to be a complete 390. Two valves are burnt, so the heads will be rebuilt and hardened valve seats installed. We still need to check the crank, but it seems the short block will just need some freshening- bearings, gaskets, maybe a bumpier camshaft. My mechanic has a line on an aluminum intake manifold and we may or may not go with a new carb. Transmission is good. It'll get new seals, pan gasket, and cooler. Gene

Ya Gene looking good, cool looking truck.. seems you scored a hit on your bid....congrats...fun deal, fix her up, get her running, and need to come up with a name...see it in person at next meeting...
