    To begin your membership with Gateway Cobra Club please submit your vital information to our club registrar/Treasurer: Paul Proefrock

    Please include your:

    Name, address, phone numbers (work, home, cell) e-mail, etc. Also, tell us about your Cobra (make, model, year, colors, engine, options, stage of build, etc.), where you bought it, any other particulars. Also include other vehicles, birthdays, your occupation & company, and any other details about you and you significant others. BTW - this info will not be posted on-line (EVER). It's just for us - to make the club better. We will eventually create a database for internal club use only.

    We will begin collecting dues soon to enable the activities that we have planned for the year - so stay tuned for that.

    FINALLY - get involved. Attend the meetings, schedule some cruises, and have some fun. We want to make this club fun (for the whole family). We're small (for now) but we're going to make a big noise here in St. Louis. In the end - this club will only be as good as our members participation.

Hello Everyone!

I'm thrilled to be a new member of the Gateway Cobra Club! I recently purchased a 427SC from ERA and it is scheduled to arrive the first week of December. That's when the fun starts! I have a 16 year old boy and we are going to build the car together. Can't wait!

I am married with 2 children. My wife - Julie, my 16 year old - Johnny and my 13 year old - Allison. I am a car guy at heart, but as most of us know, work sometimes gets in the way. I am VP of Sales for Huter Engineering Company. Many of you are familiar with Hunter. We manufacture Wheel Alignment and Wheel Balancing equipment for worldwide distribution. If I can help any of you with your alignment or balancing needs, please let me know!

Welcome Z Man! You are only the second ERA in this growing group and a December arrival will set the stage for the beginning of a great winter project. I look forward to meeting you one day soon. Tom
 
Welcome aboard. Hopefully you will have a chance to peruse the site and gather some info. We have a couple of ERA owners in the group and I'm sure they will speak up and offer to help. A few things we can offer you during your build:

- Hands - plenty of us are willing to help in the build of a car if you want us to. Be careful though, you may get more than you want :D
- Tools - We have plenty of tools in the club amongst our members. If you don't have it, ask here, we may already have it.
- Trailers - if the need arises that you need to transport your car, let us know. A few of us have trailers that you can use.
- Some of us check in daily, others once a week. I kind of monitor things and will get you an answer from one of our experts cc'g you on the e-mail if necessary.

We have a very knowledgeable group that is willing to help if asked. Congrats on your purchase and look forward to pictures of your build. Mark will create a special build area for you to post pictures, progress, ask questions etc.. please use it :D

Small world, I grew up in St. Ann and sold newspapers outside of Hunter for a few years when I was a wee lad (1970 or so).

I will be the first to take you up on the alignment offer, I just sent my upper a arms back to F5 for replacement,so I will contact you in a couple weeks, thanks.

What was the issue with the A arms?

Thought I had a bad wheel bearing, so I replaced the hub and still had the play only to discover that it was the upper arms have excess play both up and down, you could grab the wheel at 12 and 6 oclock and get movement and also at 3 and 9. So they said if they were out of spec they would send new ones. Off the car with them in your hands you could rock the bushings.Checked several cars at the last meeting and none of them had any play whatsoever, so we wait and see what they say.

Let us know as the arrival day approaches. Kind of a tradition - Arrival Party. We'll show up and help you unpack. That's always fun. The ERAs that I have seen are very nice. Congrats - and get used to us saying - is it done yet ? :D

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the madness. As others have said, let us know if you need a hand. As for the is it done yet, the answer is always no. It's never "Done", but it's always a work in progress.

I started my F5 build in April, but it came to a screaching halt, as I've been working in the Philippines for the last 3+ months. Can't wait to get back to building and talking cars. I'm sick of the 4-cyl & diesels they run over there. Seldom see a v8, covertible, or a muscle car.:(

The garage is ready. The tools are ready. Heck, I even have the cover! Now I just need a car to work on! I'm counting the minutes. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you.

Couple of housekeeping questions -

Have you ever owned a Cobra before?

Have you made a color choice yet?
Have you made an engine choice yet?

You would be surprised at how many of us answered "no" to the first few questions after they took the leap. Do you need some motivation?? The weather is pretty nice this weekend, and I have to break in my new clutch.

Welcome to the group, especially to the "Big Block" group :) You'll see friendly zingers back and forth between the big block and small block crowd.

ERA is an excellent car and aluminum FE will make it a real enjoyable build. Only heads up I can offer is sometimes, Peter (ERA) is a little optimistic on his delivery dates. Keep on him.

Hope you can make it out this weekend.

ps: know the Hunter bunch well. I am a manufacturer's rep for Rotary, Shure, Champion, Graco. Been in the industry for more years than I care to admit and know most of the guys in the field. My history with Hunter goes back to 1967 when we (Weaver) sold headlight testers to Lee Hunter. I was a design engineer with them at that time.
 
Thanks for all the messages. Unfortunately, I can not make it this weekend I will be in Las Veagas for the SEMA show. I do plan to attend the meeting on November 8. Is that still on?

My car was just delivered to the painter. We are only 6 weeks away!!!
