With all our discussions and worries this past year, it is always good to look at the bright side.

As I look back at 2009 I can say overall it has been trying but a good year. In August I chose to end my dream of owning a business. I chose to close as of September 1 and go to work for someone else. Like Scott I moved my family into a place half the size we were used to while we search for a new home. I was thinking about how bad this scenario was, then a few very important points hit me. One, I have a loving and supportive family. I am proud of my boys and I have a wonderful wife by my side. Two, I told a few members of this club and got an incredible response. As a matter of fact, within 1 week Mark helped my land my first interview!(THANK YOU!!) Three, I only spent 6 weeks without a job, I went to work 6 weeks to the day I closed my business. Four, I got to move back to St. Louis. Five, the builder bought my house back to help with the move. Finally, even though I had to sell the car I am now completely debt free and was already told by Shannon that I could look for another.

All in all I feel extremely blessed to have my family, faith, health and the ability to make a good living. We all have the ability to see the glass half full, half empty or so screwed up we can’t even think of what’s in it. Over the year think of the threads we have brought up and the general tone of the year. So in the spirit of the holidays I will say 2009 is gone, but I felt blessed this past year. How about you? Are you blessed? Are you happy? Better off than you could be?

If you still don’t know if you are blessed ask if you have family, friends, food, toys, etc

I had an outstanding year in many ways. It was very gratifying to see the club grow & friendships within the club strengthen. Supercruise was the highlight of the year for me. It was an absolute blast. The club picnic at Babler Park was a lot of fun too. Naja's run is always great. Another highlight was moving my son into his apartment at Colorado Christian U. He is very happy there & I am very proud of him. Happy New Year Guys.

Good year, blessed, lucky to still be here, lucky to have friends in this club.

Been a struggle, but still kickin.

Brandon, I'm glad it all worked out for you. 2009 was a rough year business wise but like you I look at all of the good things overall and look toward the future. Debt free is a key phrase that makes it all a bit easier to take for sure. The kids and grand kids are healthy and happy and that is really what it's all about in the end. Cars and houses come and go, hopefully everyone is or will be settled into a comfortable life no matter what that may be for each individual and 2010 will be a good year for all.

2009 has been a constant struggle for me. Losing dad, stress of the job, and issues with the car plagued me. The blessings in my life of my wife and my girls, friends and family are what got me through most of it. Thanks to the club for all the support this last year! I could have more wealth, but I could also have a lot less. I've been extremely lucky this year to not have been spared the job hunt. Brandon, thanks for pointing out the silver lining.

2009 did turn out to be a good year. I have been stressing over the job situation for a while, and my wife was telling me the exact same thing. The things that really matter don't change. Cars and houses come and go, it is faith family and freinds that see us through.
Thanks to all, and here is to a great 2010....... Cheers!

AMEN Craigr. My pastor said the three Fs are the most important things in life: Faith, Family & Friends. Ogie/Chuck added a 4th I also like Fun. :)

Hey Guys,

I would say it has been a good year for us. You all know how it started (or should I say how 2008 ended). My wife is still unemployed, but she now has a new title "Student". She finally gave up on finding a new job in this crazy economy as an architect and decided to pusure her lifelong dream in the medical/healthcare field as a nurse. She officially starts the accelerated 13 month RN program Jan 4th.

My kids are healthy and doing well. My job with Honda R&D turned out to be a blessing. They moved us, paid for our closing of the house in St. Louis, and got us on our feet here in Columbus while we found a new home. We are finally settled in (now living in Dublin, Ohio) and my wife is painting the walls and decorating. I'm spending my week off (paid winter shutdown by Honda none the less) finishing my "Man-Cave" three car garage so I can finish my Cobra. I am blessed to be where I am today.

I guess my only regret of the past year is having to leave St. Louis, mostly because I don't get to see you guys much anymore. Hopefully we will cross paths again soon.

Scott

Life is GOOOOOOOOOOOOD.
I have my family, friends, toys and most importantly, a Savior who loves me without question.

Side note: my business is in the tank(sales down 50%, profit down 110%) so I won't be paying any income tax this year. I would much rather pay my taxes, trust me.
Sad part, is if I am not paying into the system, the system will suffer even more.

Good Year

Guys,

After reading this, I feel blessed. Yes, it has been a wild ride this year. Death, illnesses, misfortunes, awful economic situation. But............... I have a great wife, a good family, a job, and most surprising ....... I ran into you guys and joined the club !!!!!!!! Whoa!! :D
