Cruise Night Ideas

Scott is absolutely right. If we stay East and North, the traffic shouldn't be a problem. If we travel 255 to 270 to 370 to Fast Lane or that area, that shouldn't be a problem. I have posted same over at RNG and hope some of the driver's respond with ideas. If leaving at 4pm, I'm assuming an eat stop is in order, with let's just say 20 people, that will take a while to get out of a restraunt UNLESS it's maybe Chuck a Burger. They have the parking facilities, and I'm sure if I call them and let them know they would have the staff on hand to handle the load. HOWEVER, it is an all interstate run, not sure if this is what people are looking for or not. Collinsville is for sure a lot closer, not much of a cruise to get there though. Dave, you sound like you are familiar with Bobby's, is there an eating establishment nearby? Is there ample parking?

Fast Lane seems like the best idea so far.
David Williams has already offered, and he'll be at RNG anyway.

If food is a must - there's that Hardees right there OR
That truck Stop across from Gateway has good food - really.
I did a commercial for them a few years ago.
They have the biggest hamburger I've ever seen.
It was probably 3 lbs of meat. - (don't even think about posting a reply Mr. Virgin):)

Anyway - thoughts?

Mr. Virgin who's that??????????????????

I don't know that guy. What a weird name. He must be weird. :D I wasn't even thinkn about stuff like that Geez (3lbs of meat). Gee wiz. U've been talkn to BBG too much. :D Should be ample parking @ Bobby's. I would suggest that several of us do a "shake down" cruise to Maryville this weekend (Sat.?) check out Bobby's & Alfonzo's for killer pizza & frozen custard. Alfonzo's is approx. 1/4 mile from Bobby's. They have putt/putt golf, go carts & video games inside for the kiddies or adult kiddies. :D:cool: There's a cruise in Downtown Lebanon, IL. from 6-9 Sat. night. We could go to Alfonzo's Sat. @ 4:00pm for pizza, then Bobby's, then to Lebanon.

Start new thread Dave to draw attention to it so we can keep this one on track.

RNG Cruise

The cruise should start at 4pm and should last no more than 2 hours. The rest is up to the club. I really appreciate the work you are doing. Call me directly if you have questions. 618-322-6046
Hey Dean: What are your thoughts on the THURS. Cruise? BTW where does the cruise depart from? Gateway? Casino Queen? Where are most of the outoftowners staying? Should there be a poll on the ideas? If the cruise departs @ 4pm there would be enough time to take em up the River Road to Grafton & back. Mark? Ideas? Feedback? Tim? Mark & I were talking about going to Alfonzo's for Pizza & then Bobby's for Frozen Custard both in Maryville this Sat. for a mini shakedown cruise. Anybody else interested for this Sat. ???????????????

I like the ideas you guys have come up with. I just don't want you to be disappointed if we don't have many cruisers. This is the first year for this, a lot like the car show. This is a growth year. You guys are really doing a great job with this. I would probably stay in Illinois and head to Lebenon or Grafton. My thought was to get back to the track before dark. It seems like the "gremlins" come out after dark. I would hate to have a driver with car trouble in the dark although there are plenty of trailers are the track.

RNG Cruise

Dean says depart gateway 4pm return Gateway by 6:30pm no later than 7pm Thurs. night. Mark & Tim & anyone else who wants to go, lets meet @ the truck stop across from Gateway TOMORROW/SAT. @ 3:45pm, depart there @ 4pm for Alfonzo's in Maryville, eat Pizza or other Italian, go to Bobby's, eat custard & see if we get back to Gateway by 6:30 to 7pm range. Good plan? Bad Plan? Shake Down Cruise. Replies? please.

That sounds like a great trip! I have 2 backdrafts and 2 GT40's in my garage right now and none of them run! I have some serious work to do and not much time. :(

Let me know how it goes. You guys are really a big help.

Sounds good, but, I won't be able to go that late. I have to be back in St Chuck by 5:30. We could do it earlier, the traffic patterns on Saturday aren't going to be the same as a Thursday, so doesn't make a difference as to time. Good plan Dave, if I can't make it, Mark said he could.

Hey Dean, didn't you say you have catered food coming in Thursday night? So Alfonso's may not be good or leave it up to the 'cruisers'?

So... Today is Thursday. When and where are we meeting?
Orlando

Different Crowd/Breed that...................

evidently goes to Runngun then London. Mark & Tim kept remarking "these guys are serious." Should have seen the track manager get mad & rip some butts on Wed. He was hot.

Yeah, we had two people sign up. Plus Gary O, TBull, and a couple of other club guys would have gone, we were busy selling chili, water, and soda anyway, so Dean didn't think it a big deal, so we just didn't go. Hope it didn't cause any problems, but just wasn't worth it with only two folks going.
