There was a time when we would meet around 8am an get home around 4 - 6pm traveling over 230 miles for the day. I've been hearing that 200 + mile cruises are no longer what everyone wants, so, thought I would put up a poll asking what is your preferred cruise length. This will affect Supercruise and current planned routes with all but one over 200 miles.

Why over 200 you ask. Many times, it takes about 75 - 100 miles one way to get to an area. I can certainly shorten the lengths, but, be aware this may lock us in to visiting many of the same places. My opinion, it is what it is, plan the length to have a good drive. But, will be open to the majority of the opinions.

Tim, is this question specifically for Supercruise planning or for any GCC cruises?
Any cruise really. Supercruise, I can almost assuredly tell you the drives will be over 200 miles but, under 300 this year. But, in the end, it will help in planning all day cruises. Not really planned outings like going to Graffton or something, but, day drives where it's planned to go driving with a lunch destination and a POI destination along the way. Just seems that the tolerance for long drives has gone down substantially since the Colorado trip.

I think that when you take the passenger and their interests into consideration, if you have a couple hour 'side stop' to some venue, it doesn't leave enough time to get in longer mileage trips unless you do an over-nighter. Prior to Colorado, we were focused solely on driving and did 250 miles but at the expense of the passenger.

For local cruises my .02 is keep it less than 150 miles. For Supercruise, I'm fine with any length as long as the passengers can enjoy the cruise and we're back before dark?

I got to agree. Passenger can make a big difference. Supercruise I consider that out the window, which is why I don't try to take Shelley. Days like that I just go until we're done.

Super cruise in particular, let the route and planning determine the length of the drive. But if you can plan a short day (<200 miles) in the middle of the trip, it would be appreciated by the passengers.
