It's going to cost my family $6,900.00 for our share of the bail out. ATTENTION ADMIN! If this thread is interpreted by you as a political & in violation of forum rules please DELETE ASAP!

It was on the national news tonight.................

I guess some mathemetician crunched the numbers & figured out that it will cost $2,300.00 PER EVERY man, woman & child in the U.S.!:mad::mad::mad:

I don't even want to think about how much would be lost without it though. My stock has taken a pummelling, but it's still there. As has been said in another thread, now would probably be the time to buy if you have the money.

I'm going to let this one ride for a bit. To me it's not a political post - but a general screwing to all of us - it doesn't matter what party we are in.

For my .02 - $2300 per family member is a simple distortion - and would be a bargain at that price.

First - take the 700B they're talking about this week and add the 300B from the last 2 weeks. That's 1 trillion. Then add in all of the jobs/money and economic growth the county has lost over the last 18 months while our govt stood mute while it was going building up to this. Guessing - Double it - now it's 2 trillion. Then, by the time all of the middle men, processors, and special interest groups get their cut/hand outs - and you can add another 1 trillion. Now - subtract all of the families that don't pay taxes - that's the lower 20% of the population that cost us money anyway. Factor in the depressed housing prices, rising fuel prices (that have no end in site) and loss of jobs - and you have first class butt screwing for the middle class.

The old phrase comes to mind - don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining!

BTW - the sanctamonious winning by the republicans and democrats alike should be disturbing enough all by itself. They all stood by mute while it was going on. Oh - if it was tainted hamburgers, or poison paint from China, or poor quality baby seats - they couldn't get in front of a camera fast enough. But, since they were all making money on the way up this ladder of death - they remained silent. When these two groups of thugs get together (i.e. trying to figure out how to spend an extra 1 trillion dollars) - watch out.

Now - they don't know if it's going to work. It won't. It's what Ross Perot called a big giant sucking sound. Did you hear it this week? I did. That 1 trillion dollars will evaporate into the system - and nothing will get solved.

Everybody has a complaint - so I'll stop for now.

But I do have a suggestion - let's try something new. How about "trickle UP economics". Send every man, woman and child in this country $6000 - and see what happens.

so, my household of (4) workers would be $9,200?! And, let's just take a Single RICH Millionaire, his would be just $2,300? Um, I know I'm from Arkansas and all, but this don't add up. :(

Now the FBI is involved - that's gonna help - you gotta be kidding me.

I's a classic ponzi scheme - with a bit of slight of hand.

Maybe it's half our fault - While they had us looking at reality TV, debating the "ethics" of war, selling us flat screen TVs, discussing how many kids Angelina Jolie is gonna rent this month, and telling us to go "green" because we are going to destroy the planet, all the while they were packaging up our debt and selling it to the highest bidder - and taking bets on the side as to wheather or not we'll be able to pay off our homes. These same criminals doubled the price of our gas - just because they could (after all that's a free market) - and now they're going to FIX IT for us - and it's only going to cost us 1 trillion dollars - maybe - they think.

Meanwhile the Saudi princes (with our money) have been buying our banks with the oil money we've been sending them. Now they own our houses too.

Yep - the global economy - and trickle down economics. The globe has our money and we got trickled on !

Well Mr. Gambini...................................

Those are some intelligent, lucid & inciteful arguments. OVERRULED! :D:D:D:D

Chuck, you are the financial expert here right? Care to share any insight on what this could mean to everyone here? Any need to worry about 401k's? Savings in Credit Unions? Mortgage loans? Car loans? Home Equity loans? Guess I better start paying attention and reading some of this stuff. McCain is suspending his campaign and has asked Obama to do the same.

People, people, people, there's...

...nothing to be concerned with! This is just a temporary "economic downturn". Oh wait...that was last years message....

Your economic stimulus package check is in the mail...go out and spend spend spend...oops, that didn't work.

Umm...let's print some more $$$ and bail out Wall Street...to get them out of this economic CRISIS!

Do we see a pattern here?
