It's going to cost my family $6,900.00 for our share of the bail out.

I'm going to let this one ride for a bit. To me it's not a political post - but a general screwing to all of us - it doesn't matter what party we are in.
For my .02 - $2300 per family member is a simple distortion - and would be a bargain at that price.
First - take the 700B they're talking about this week and add the 300B from the last 2 weeks. That's 1 trillion. Then add in all of the jobs/money and economic growth the county has lost over the last 18 months while our govt stood mute while it was going building up to this. Guessing - Double it - now it's 2 trillion. Then, by the time all of the middle men, processors, and special interest groups get their cut/hand outs - and you can add another 1 trillion. Now - subtract all of the families that don't pay taxes - that's the lower 20% of the population that cost us money anyway. Factor in the depressed housing prices, rising fuel prices (that have no end in site) and loss of jobs - and you have first class butt screwing for the middle class.
The old phrase comes to mind - don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining!
BTW - the sanctamonious winning by the republicans and democrats alike should be disturbing enough all by itself. They all stood by mute while it was going on. Oh - if it was tainted hamburgers, or poison paint from China, or poor quality baby seats - they couldn't get in front of a camera fast enough. But, since they were all making money on the way up this ladder of death - they remained silent. When these two groups of thugs get together (i.e. trying to figure out how to spend an extra 1 trillion dollars) - watch out.
Now - they don't know if it's going to work. It won't. It's what Ross Perot called a big giant sucking sound. Did you hear it this week? I did. That 1 trillion dollars will evaporate into the system - and nothing will get solved.
Everybody has a complaint - so I'll stop for now.
But I do have a suggestion - let's try something new. How about "trickle UP economics". Send every man, woman and child in this country $6000 - and see what happens.
