Thanks everyone for coming out last night. Seeing the 'new' cars of Greg/Thonda Wenzel as well as mine and Linda's added a bit of excitement to the meeting. We covered the upcoming calendar which included this coming Saturday's Pool Party at Ian and Barb's. They have graciously opened their home and pool to us over the past few years. Please go this THREAD to vote on the poll and get more info. Please see our calendar for more upcoming event info including:
- 8/12 - Fastlane Cars and Coffee - Start your morning here, then end up at Ian's in the afternoon!
- 8/20 Misfit Toys Car Club Track Day at Gateway - Madison, IL - Tony G, Rich S, and Scott J are attending. Free to go watch if you want
- 9/9 - Fastlane Cars and Coffee - If weather allows, let's try to roll in a Snake and Egg's with this event, who's in?!
- 9/16 - Two events for the day, one driving, and one show. The drive will be up to Hannibal to visit the WWII Ship LST-325, see HERE for more info on that. The Show is a memorial for a Car Enthusiast Randi Gori. If you wish to show that day, it's a good show with food and lots of cars. see HERE for more info.
- 9/23 - This is the date of our annual club picnic. The club will provide the main dish (Hobo's Fried Chicken) and a couple of sides, as well as some soda's and water, but, best bring what you like to drink. Many bring a dessert or other unique side dish. We will have raffle giveaways, so, if you have something that you would like to donate, let me know. This is a great event to get a good portion of the club members and wives out to get to know each other. We'll have music and games for the kids available as well. Each member is allowed to bring all immediate family members as well as a guest. Know of other Cobra owners that would be interested? Invite them with the intent of joining.
10/13 - 10/15 - Lake Garnett Grand Prix Revival - This is the 60th anniversary year celebration of the Cobra/Corvette "wars" and is a neat event at a historic track that is a City Park by day. The town welcome's the "racers" and cars and there are a lot of side events for you to participate in. It's come a long way since the last time I attended, so, give it some consideration and if you plan to go, post it up, others may want to as well.
10/14 - Fast Lane Cars and Coffee - A lot of different cars attend this event AND this is a good event to take a drive after attending to shake down our cars before Supercruise. If someone wants to take the lead on getting a cruise planned, that would be awesome!
10/25 - 10/29 - Supercruise!! This annual club event is taking us to the Mountains of NW Arkansas. Please see this THREAD for more info on the event. A great event for new members to get to know the club as well as breaking in your car. This years 5 day event will have us driving over 150miles each day approximately to some great places in and around Bentonville/Rogers, Arkansas. Of course, you do NOT have to attend all 5 days. Come on Thursday or Friday and you will still get some miles in and have a great time with the club.
November is wide open for planning an event. If you have something you want to add to the calendar, let myself or Mike Plunk know.
