    Pre-SuperCruise Morning Drive - Sat. 10/21/23

Hey Everyone. It looks like Saturday morning (10/21/23) should have some nice weather so I am planning on going on a morning cruise and wanted to see if anyone was interested in joining me as a pre-supercruise event. My plan was to be on the road from approximately 9am -1pm. Not sure of exact...

    Paint?

As for body work and paint, considering I just did that on my 63 Riviera this year, here is what I know. Labor: Well I would say I easily put in over 150-200 hrs of labor in body work over a 7 month period. One good thing (since I'm crap at body work) is the Riviera does not have a lot of curves...

Does anyone have a list of insurance companies that offer track insurance? I can’t find that info from 2 years ago.

    Wheel Alignment Shops

I’ve used Alignment Specialist for Cobra and 69 Mustang. Did great work on both! You do have to plan out a few weeks in advance with JR, he said they are super busy and it was 2.5 weeks before he could get me in. Just got my cobra back yesterday and it is handling sweet with the new coil overs...

    Helmet to Borrow?

Darn, I can’t make the meeting tomorrow. Would you be able to hand it off to Rich or Tony if they are at the meeting? I’ll ask them to bring it on the track day in a text. If not, no worries s maybe I can grab it from you prior the event.

    What's that Noise?

Thanks Paul. I already bought the Vi-Kings earlier this week. Putting them on this weekend.

    What's that Noise?

I have read that there have been some issues with the Bilstein's on the FFR forum, but not sure if it was due to a manufacturing issue or design issue. Either way, the Bilstein's had a rod diameter of 0.425" (0.385" at the thread where it sheared off) and the Vi-King coilovers are 0.625"...

    What's that Noise?

Thanks Paul. I did a quick look and it looks like they would be maybe $50 cheaper than the ones I bought from Vi-King.

    What's that Noise?

I called Mark Reynolds at Breeze (where I got my rear coil-overs years ago). Breeze doesn't sell QA1's anymore (he would loose money in the transaction) so he pointed me to Vi-King Performance. They make suspension parts at a cheaper price point than QA1's. The double adjustment coil-overs were...

    What's that Noise?

It turns out I had the original Bilstein's on the Cobra. I'd like to put double adjustable QA1 coilers (450#) to match the back QA1's. Does anyone know the part number for front double adjustable QA1's? Breeze has the springs on sale, but I can't find a listing on their website for the...

    What's that Noise?

They are the ones cat came with the MIII kit back in 2006. Not sure as haven’t taken them off yet. I am running FF pin drive setup which compacts things a bit more., so maybe the Konis will fit.

    What's that Noise?

Well, I figured out what the rattling was on my front right wheel. Turns out the bottom mount on my coil over sheared off when I went over some railroad tracks. Good news is the FFR design allowed me to drive over 50 miles back without the front end coming apart. I'll call that good luck...
