Ok, I went for 10 years without windshield wipers on my old build. I have the complete kit for installing wipers on the new car, but I've also heard for different people they are worthless. So chime in please. If you have wipers, are they effective and would you put them in a new build or are they just in the way or there for aesthetics? I'll get the popcorn and let the discussion begin!

My 2 cents: when we are caught in rain, my wipers are good to clear the windshield with a few swipes now and then...I do not run them continuiously ... using Rainx is good planning also...and to clean windshield prior Do a clay bar on it... smooth baby.... my car has wipers... and glad it does...what’s the deal on license process...? Needed, not needed...? Moral of the story...avoid rain!

Yeah if you drive these cars long enough, you'll get rained on. Downpours are hard to deal with. I always used rain-x before exclusively. I was just wondering about experiences with the wipers. Thanks for the input.

The wipers are really only good with mist on the windshield. Showers ro hard rain are usually cared for by Rain-X. I rarely use mine, and, if I did build another car, I think it would be without them.

IF you do decided to install, research the autopark function. I never figured this out for mine, so, I have to manually time it to turn mine off in the parked position.

I didn't install my while running it in gel-coat the first year, because I was in such a hurry to get it licensed and on the road.
So, NO, you do not need them for licensing (at least that was my experience and I don't believe others have either).
Don't do what I did and install them after the body is painted! That was too nerve racking, drilling into fresh paint.
I carefully installed them and they work well, with the park function.
They are good for a mist to light rain, anything beyond that and I'm looking for cover.
Read up on how to improve the gearbox mechanisms for a smooth operation.
Yes, I would install them again.

Agree they are good to clear the windshield during light rain but not needed as you've experienced the last 10 years.

Although, for me I'm glad I have them and prefer the look of the roadsters with them.

. . . Read up on how to improve the gearbox mechanisms for a smooth operation. . . .
