As it turns out I'm not going to my in-laws until the weekend of 6/20 & 6/21. So any cruise ideas floating around in those reptilian caverns situated at the end of your necks? Weigh in here. Lets get something going. Here's an idea: Meet & Greet @ MickyD's Rest. in Alton (Usual place) in the Noon to 1pm range SAT., depart for Josephine's Tea Room for Lunch (wives/girls will love this); cruise thru Alton before or after Josephine's too see old stately homes in Alton (I could try to arrange with Coach Toomer a tour of the "Olin Mansion" which over looks the Miss.); around 4pm head to Winner's Circle for a cruise hosted by our Buddy Danny Michel; depart 1-2hours later for Custard @ Bobby's frozen custard in Maryville, IL. Yummie. This cruise is definitely something the wives would enjoy presumably. I need to know if enough people are interested so I can see about the possibility of reservations at Josephine's.

Would love to, but my nieces 16th birthday party is that night, back where I grew up. Definate interest in the Olin mansion, and Bobies is always a fun cruise, especially on a Sat. night.

Cancelled

Here is another idea: This evening my wife, Diane, and I are going to a small restaurant in downdown Labadie, MO. It is called "Labadie Grapevine." They sell wine by the bottle, and a few by the glass. Plus, they do have beer for those who prefer. They have a limited, but good menu. I recommend the spinach dip!

We will be going over about 8:00 or maybe a little earlier. It is a relatively short drive for us, and we take the Cobra weather permitting.

Tonight they have live entertainment starting at 8:00. It is a duet called Mike and Janelle. We have heard them before, and they are VERY GOOD! That is why we are especially going this Saturday night. The restaurant has live music every Saturday, but different groups.

They are a very small restaurant, and I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND insect repellent so you can sit outside.

Hope to see you there!

Well, Saturday was spent fixing broke stuff, yard maintenance, and removing a dead snake  I learned:
that a cracked fuel line on a weed eater will keep it from staying started
I am still terrified of snakes, even if they are dead (I killed a dead snake just to be sure, and then it tried to attack me when I attempted to sling it off the hoe in to the woods), Linda asked me if she should call 911 or someone else to remove the snake.
that I really need to understand my HVAC system better,
that cracked insulation on an AC wire plus ground will trip a breaker intermittently,
that my brand new power washer is broke (won't start),
How to brew my own beer (more details later on that one)
That four words you don't want to hear via a text message from your son "I am being arrested...."
That my timing on my Cobra is spot on
A 1970 Twister drag pack Mustang is worth a lot of money (apparently $195,000 according to Fast Lane)
Indigo Joe's has a great bacon cheesburger
That my car is still a blast to drive:D
How to rip DVD's to my computer for playback when out of town
And, that my wife still love's me no matter how big of an a$$ I am.

I learned a lot, how bout you?

I learned this weekend that there are really nice people still out there in this world. :) I pulled the trigger on a 58 engine for my 58 vette earlier this week off ebay & Danny & I drove to Louisiana, Mo. to pick it up today. I thought I was getting a block & heads. When I get there the guy gives me all kinds of stuff as part of the deal. One thing he gave me alone was probably worth as much or more than the entire engine! :D I look at all the stuff laying next to the engine & I says how much extra for all this other stuff & he says nothing & I about fell over dead. ;) The original Oil bath air cleaner with the inside piece still intact is extremely rare & valuable. Generator, ex. manifolds, water pump, rochester 4bl carb, intake, fuel pump, etc. etc. etc. WOW did I get a deal. BTW Ate at Mel's River Dock in Hardin on the way back. Don't have to tell ya what I ordered do I? Danny had Turtle pie for desert.

I learned ...
That all $200,000+ Mustang Twisters are Yellow,
That when you get a headache every time you use a computer that the monitors are shot - not my eyes,
That Lynch Hummer has a brand new dyno center and the best carb guy in town,
That a new dyno center looks like a sterile operating room,
That Lynch Hummer is virtually empty
That when you go to an impromptu car show in a Cobra nobody will park next to you,
That car shows are neat, but I'd rather drive - no matter how bad the gas mileage is,
That I really miss driving around with all my buddies - damn this rain and honey-dos and work.
