Without a doubt by far, ours was a 1980 Cadillac Eldorado. When you closed the door it sounded like a bucket of bolts clanging around. If you were on the highway going at highway speeds & rolled the window down, you couldn't get the windows to roll back up in the channel & seat properly at the top. Every 20 to 30ks of milage you had to replace the cam shaft & lifters cause the lobes on the cam shaft would go flat.:( It was arguably the prettiest car we have ever owned. White with red lipstick leather interior & a full woodgrain dash. Great outside lines. Great curb appeal. What a shame. GM's flagship line & the worst quality automobile we have ever owned by far.

Fox Body Ford

Fox body Mustangs leave a little to be desired, IMHO. A Fox Body Mercury (Capri) was even worse. No HP, No stopping, Poor Fuel Economy. Rebadging as a Mercury didn't improve quality one bit

I guess I've been lucky.

I've never had a lemon or basket case car. Very first was a 1980 Tbird (Black w/ ford porno red interior) that had a V8, dual exhaust, but had factory "mag" wheels that would wallow out the lug holes. Most comfy one though. Next was a 1989 tempo...never had a problem with it. My 1984 mustang LX had the POS 3.8L engine that warped the aluminum heads pretty regularly (and it had the obligatory porno-red interior). My 1984 GT with T-tops was my "hot rod", but I think it was posessed because I got into a lot of fenderbenders and received a lot of tickets with it (and you guessed it, porno-red interior). Then I picked up a Bronco II, 1985 vintage, 4x4, that ran great, but was a rust bucket. Matter of fact, the day I sold it, the seat ripped out of the floor as I was pushing in the clutch (yes, you know, porno-red). No problems with my 20th anniversary '84 GT ragtop, but I don't drive it much anyhow...it has that cranky CFI injection setup on it (wow, again with the porno-red). Finally, I bought a 88 Tbird Turbocoupe for 600 clams a few years ago with 230,000 miles on it, power everything, ride control, and a 5-speed. It's had the most bugs in it, but I love it's cushiness under my butt, the fuel economy, and the little turbo that kicks in when I need it. Best of all, it's missing that certain color interior I seem to always be blessed with! I also had a 89 probe and 96 Z-26 beretta (piece of junk quad4) , but only long enough to flip and resell.

Worst car

Wife drove an old Impala wagon I purchased at auction(was an ex CocaCola fleet car)
305ci with 2 bbl carb.
She was always complaining it quit running and I would have to drop what I was doing and go get it started for her. Did this numerous times and it always started rite up for me.
Then one cold winter morning(2AM) I drove it to work for some unknown reason and lo and behold it quit on me and would not restart. She failed to tell me it only did this after making right hand turns!!! It was the float sticking and starving for fuel...after a 2.5 mile hike to my office(did I mention it was 2AM and a cold winter morning) I waited for the wife to come get me later in the morning so I could go get the Coke Mobile. Rebuilt the carb and got rid of it..wife says I never listen to her when it comes to vehicles and thier inability to get her from point A to B.

Mid 70's Triumph Spitfire.

....Stranded us along side Manchester road when it was less than 1 yr old. I will NEVER buy another car that has Lucas electrics and SU diaphragm carbs.

Fun car...but a pain in the ass because you could never trust it on a long trip.

Dittos on Triumph Spitfire

I owned a 66 Triumph Spitfire. It was a blast. Pain in the butt tho. Slept in it on the beach on Padres Island, TX on Easter weekend early 70s. :)
