I'm sorry Senator Brown in my exuberance to post your victory as soon as possible I inadvertently referred to you as "Congressman" Brown. Please accept my sincerest apologies Senator. Congratulations on your exciting & well deserved victory. Serve our country well Senator.

Great news, he can't fix it all, but it is a step in the right direction.

Who would have ever thought that Ted Kennedy's seat (the king of public health care) could be the seat that kills off the bill!!!!!

And he asked the president if he should drive his truck down, so the president could see it!!!! This guy has alot of state senate experience, he is definatly a guy to watch down the road.

WOW! That's neat & says a lot. I'm gonna be watching him. Well good for him. Maybe he'll be breath of fresh air & sensibility in DC. Man that's a lot to hope for. :eek:
 
I think it is start...people waking up to the progressive movement in DC.
Now...how long will the Senate wait to actually seat him??
My money is on after they ram the health care bill thru using the bomb....they can pass it with a majority vote(ie 51 and they have 57 if they seat him immediately).
They ain't done yet folks.
 
The people have spoken at last! This is a great wake up call for the arrogant elitists who think they have the right to control our lives in every aspect. I have a feeling that they are going to try to ram Obamacare through BUT some of them may come to their senses when they realize that their days in office are numbered as soon as they cast that vote. Good Morning America, thanks for waking up!
 
I think Mikey's right. I think the health care reform bill is in big trouble. See our democratic system really does work & it is not necessary to resort to or advocate the forceful overthrow of those that don't agree with our personal opinions. I believe that God is in control of ALL situations. Moderator feel free to delete religious commentary if you deem it appropriate. However, I believe the paddock is where we should be able to express our religious & political opinions.
 
I think he still is a congressman. Congress is made up of the House of Representatives and the State Senators. Reps and Senators are both congressmen, aren't they? The title representative or senator more accurately describes their respective assignements. Correct or not?

In either case, I'm glad he won. Like he said last night, this now has the potential to make all of the republicans the 41st vote. I think our health care needs work, but I definitely didn't agree with how they are going about it.

I am very encouraged by what happened last night in MASS, but I have to reserve final judgment until I see Senator Brown in action. The proof, as they say, is in the pudding.

Regarding forceful overthrow of the government - it isn't justified for a difference of opinion, but it is justified when the Government violates the Constitution that each member has sworn to preserve and protect.

Allowing our country to be invaded by Mexicans, forcing us to purchase health insurance, bailing out private companies, cutting sweetheart deals with Nebraska, Louisiana and the unions are just a few examples of why the entire bunch needs to be ousted by whatever means are required.

Hey Bull it's my understanding that members of the senate are given the title Senator & House members are titled Congressmen & that congressman should not be used to refer to a Senator. Am I wrong guys? Hey Stever it's OK for us to disagree on "citizen's rights." This is America. :D

OMG He posed NUDE for cosmo mag as a law student in1982. :cool: 1 of his daughters was a semi-finalist on American Idol. :) He is a self professed trouble maker. :D (love him for that) He favs same sex marriage. :eek: :( He's pro choice. :( He campaigned in a beater weathered GM truck with 200,000 miles on it. :D:cool: (love him for that) He seems to be a maverick ala John McCain. Seems as tho Coakley ASSUMED (makes an ASS out of U & ME) out of arrogance that she was going to win. Can't fix stupid!

Let's not talk about skeletons in the closet.I don't have any....they all still have flesh on thier bones. Remember I went to SIU too. In '60s no less.
I didn't pose in the nude(they never asked me). I did attend a kegger or two at the beaches and won't go into detail(I think the 5th ammendment may be in order).

According to todays news, the health care met its due.
