Ter wants to try Atlantis, Nassau. We've stopped at Nassau several times as part of cruise ship vacations, but we've never been to Atlantis cause Ter was too busy shopping in the straw market & elsewhere in Nassau.:eek:

Never heard anybody complain about Turks & Caicos before. Everything I hear is it is fabulous. Care to elaborate on why it was bad for you Kid? Some friends of ours have stayed at Beaches Turks & Caicos several times & they love it. Ter & I stopped at Turks & Caicos once as part of a cruise ship vacation but we didn't venture away from from the cruise ship area & just kinda hung out Jimmy Buffet's there.

Sure. Atlantis is simply incredible. We didn't leave the resort for 4 days! We did error in the hotel we chose. There are multiple on the grounds. We were in the cheap seats. Still a great place and after all we left the room in the morning and didn't return until bedtime. Next round though we are going to stay in the Royal Tower. There is something for everyone on the grounds. If you stopped by you didn't get to see the full resort because you have to have a bracelet on to get access to the best parts.

Turks was ok. We stayed at the Beaches complex and we thought it was average. Food was ok, grounds were ok and the room was ok. I hate to say it, but it was a forgettable trip, nothing special. Especially for the money spent!

In Cancun we stayed at La Meridien. Very, very nice hotel. Right on the strip. I know what you mean by not a favorite. We had a blast, but got sick also. I still say it was the water not Senior Frogs and the 2 for 1 specials:eek::D.

I also am a big fan of short trips and taking the family to hotels here in town for something different over the weekend. Short favs; Boston, Chicago, New York.

Thanks for the informative info on Atlantis Kid.

Yeah I hear Beaches @ Turks & Caicos is pricey.

Next time ya go to the Mexican Riveria Maya try Playa Del Carmen. http://www.google.com/images?rlz=1T...esult_group&ct=title&resnum=4&ved=0CDIQsAQwAw We liked it a LOT better than Cancun. The 5th Ave shopping & rest. district in Playa Del Carmen is fun, quaint & charming. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl...l=en&sa=X&rlz=1T4GWYE_enUS248US248&tbs=isch:1 A lot different then Cancun. And yes they have Senior Frogs there too. :D:eek:;)

We always like going to the Lake for short trips. Your old stompin grounds. Never been to the party cove tho. :p;):D:D:D:D

When ya go to Captiva Island try eating at the Bubble Room. Ignore the name. You'll love the food. The deserts are killer. http://www.bubbleroomrestaurant.com/

Try Destin sometime Chuck: http://www.tripadvisor.com/LocationPhotos-g34182-w3-Destin_Florida.html

Most beautiful: St. Johns, USVI
2nd most beautiful: Grand Cayman

Not impressed: Jamaica & Puerto Rico

Where we're going this year: Captiva Island, Florida (www.southseas.com) Incredible location with all the amenties of an all inclusive!!

Chuck,

If you get a chance and want to spend half a day (& $600) call Capt. Jimmy Robertson over at Boca Grande for the coolest fishing trip you'll ever take. He'll only take 6 at a time for either offshore or Tarpon (in Captiva pass) if they are running. I don't fish but I've been out with Jimmy 3 times and wouldn't miss a chance to do it again. The last time out it took me 45 minutes to land a Tarpon that was 66" and 125 lbs.. If I hadn't been with buddy's and facing the ridicule of letting it get away, I'm not sure I could have done it :D. Jimmy is at 941-697-4088 his boat is the Big Mac.

Cool. Thanks for the travel tips guys.

The bubble room.....we'll pass. Ate there last year and was not very impressed.

Fishing...if we have time (and the kids don't spend all my money), we'll give it a whirl.
