Uh, free car show at RNG?

I also agree but it is still Gateway's money. We were suppose to get $3000 this year for advertising but they backed out on that. Clois and I are already $1,000s of dollars in the hole. At the end of the day I am a racer not a waxer. I go to R&G for track time. We need all of your ideas to grow in a different direction because that isn't my specialty.

Dean - I (and I'm sure WE) had no idea that RNG was set-up like this. As you can tell from the action the last day or so - we are a pretty excitable bunch. IMHO - this is where a club can do it's BEST work.

We can listen as well as type. We can volunteer as well as lead. We have no shortage of ideas, and the mental horsepower to back it up. I am so very proud of this group. Doctors, lawyers, architechs, rocket scientists, engineers, managers, advertising specialists - we are a pretty good group to have on your side.

So, since we are all so verbose on this topic - I would like to suggest that we assemble a working group to meet with you and Clois to "reset" and grow RNG for 2009. Losing personal money on a huge event is not acceptable - IMHO. It may be too late to make wholesale changes for this year - be we as a group can certainly learn a few things - and "reset" for next year.

We want to help.

I I agree that the cruise and car show are a little iffy... Quite frankly the people that have attended RNG are not typically there for show and shine and cruising to the local Chubby Chuck...They are there to race. It's a different mindset. I think these two activities are going to appeal more to the spectators who just come to watch. We''ll just have to see...

K&K

Cruise to a local Chubby Chuck? I haven't invited everybody over yet so when I do, I guess that would qualify as one, huh. :D

On a serious note, this is all great discussion and its important to hammer this out to get it close the first year. We're not going to be perfect on our first try...but we will learn by keeping the ideas coming and tweaking things in years to come.

Man Oh Man......

You guys sure do have a lot of great ideas. Hopefully Dean and Clois are impressed with the enthusiam of our little group of snake charmers. Again, Dean please encourage Clois to register as a member of our Club on our Website, and participate in this exchange of ideas that are flowing freely from our intellegent and informed Club Members. We are a great group of people that certainly appear to be anxious to get involved and help Runngun grow into something different if that is what you and Clois wish to happen. Again, we need feedback from you and Clois. Sorry about the repetitiveness of that request. Getting together as a group at a restaurant or bar to talk through these issues can also be a bad thing in addition to a good thing. It's been my experience on some occassions that certain personalities try to dominate/control such conversations or sometimes people go off on tangents or get upset because their ideas aren't accepted. Hopefully that can be avoided. As everyone has already stated it is certainly a very slow process to try to get something to grow into what you envision it to be. Even though this typing is a PITA, it is also very helpful for us to exchange our ideas in writing before we get together as a group and discuss these matters orally together. Then all of us can preview each others ideas, possibly print them and bring them with us for discussion so that everyone will have an idea of each others ideas and opinions. Dave

I will let those in the know attend the meeting, will be more than happy to provide an able mind and body as well as support. Don't need too many cooks in the kitchen. :D

I will help any way I can but....................

when it comes to technical stuff U guys already know I'm holdn an empty bag! :( Sorry but its true. However, it can be a good thing that everybody does not have the same skills, expertise or knowledge in the same area. Tim, Tom, me & others can assist in our own areas of skills, expertise & knowledge. Team work for the sake of all & for the sake of a common goal. What a great group of guys. U guys rock! GCC rocks! BTW Who's provdn the FREE beer? Don't everybody raise Ur hand at once! :) I'll take a free ice water! :) woosie butt!
