As I investigate the purchase of a trailer, one thing that must be considered is "where does it get stored?" My home doesn't have a place for it.

I've talked to a couple storage yards - man, what a racket. I've been quoted $40, $65 and $89 per month for a space to store it. All are outdoor storage.

What is the typical going rate for storing something like this? At $40 per month, that's almost $500 year. Two years is more than the trailer

Paul, when I was growing up we had a neighbor that stored his pop up trailer in his garage using a pully system exactly like the one I saw in YOUR garage. Idea? That is if you getting an open trailer.

Paul:

If I remember correctly you're talking about an open trailer. If that's correct, you may just want to blow off buying one and renting instead. I've rented one from U-Haul a couple of times and it worked fine.

IMHO - if you're comfortable with an open trailer and not trailering more than a few times a year - rent.

Steve is right. If you are going with an open trailer rent. They will provide a much better trailer in most cases anyway. Just be sure to add the cost of paint work to your spreadsheet. You will need it with an open trailer! What are you pulling this trailer with?
