Transmission shop recommendation

The Suburban's transmission and/or torque converter is acting up; Slams into gear and shutters at higher speeds. Does anyone have a shop they'd recommend? I don't feel like messing with it.

Check with dealer or google recalls - had a 2017 that had this issue… Behlmann replaced it… they don’t rebuild them… I saw it in the wooden box when it arrived… not sure your year BUT there has been issues…. Just an FYI

I've always used M.T. Schiele for my transmission and rear end work. They've don well for me for the last 15 years when I needed them, but they are in the south county area. 314-843-0044

To be honest, for that transmission, I wouldn't hesitate to take it to Aamco

Yeah I called schiele, but they told me they don't work on automatics. I'll probably just take it to AAMCO. Thanks all.

I’ve had good luck with Coleman Taylor. Plus they were honest another time and told me it wasn’t the transmission acting up.

So all the shops I called in the area are saying they have a long wait to get parts and the quickest thing they can do is swap put the trans with a refurbished one from the dealer. Fun stuff...
