Trailer (for Rowan’s Cobra)

So I have begun the search for a trailer. Im looking for an enclosed or serpent express trailer with a length between 16 and 18 ft. I have read the following post and taken all its contents into consideration.

https://www.gatewaycobraclub.com/forums/showthread.php?5984-Enclosed-Trailers&highlight=Trailer

From this post the consensus is if I want an enclosed trailer I should look at a 8.5x16ft trailer. What is not indicated is height. For better efficiency what is the lower than the standard 6.6ft interior height option?

The tow vehicle is a 2016 Toyota 4Runner with 6,000 lb capacity so weight is not a large issue.

I’m open to finding either the enclosed or serpent express used let me know if you know of any leads or suggestions. I would like to stay under $4,000 if possible.

Cheers
Josh

Want brand new...have a look at ARISING TRAILERS...well priced...no one else’s problems... Me, Paul, Kent, got ours at Herculaneum - Viking Trailers... mention Gateway Cobra Club, and we referred you...may get a few bucks off? I love mine, and hauls the car perfectly...zero issues...

Josh, get in touch with Keith Wilson or Mark Patterson. Both of them bought a trailer and the Serpent cover, and built heir own. Not hard to do, but somewhat time consuming. Don't know the final cost, but I think close to your budget? With your tow vehicle, I think the Serpent Express is Ideal, I have one and love it. I know Mark liked how his towed behind his Honda.

In my search for a trailer, I found this company in Ga. that have a number of standard features such as dropped axles, 6.5" interior height and heavy duty 5,000 lb ramp door. They come with a beavertail floor which is great for hauling cars.

At the very least you could use this info for comparison while shopping locally.

Seen you guys talking about this trailer. Josh if you come to an agreement with trailer and need eyes on it, I'm about two hours from Port Orange and can go look at it. Just let me know.

That would be wonderful, unfortunately I have yet to hear back from him. Looks like he listed it and then perhaps was pulled away by something else.

Looks like a nice trailer, not sure but looks like an extended tongue. The lift off fender is extra but not sure on width at 83 inches. Mark P. , Rich S. or Keith W. can answer that. Wouldn't wait to long.

That looks like a nice trailer, that seems a fair price. I paid just a bit more for mine, and I have wooden floors, but not the nice wheels. The only real negative, it doesn't have the small doors at the front tires to get in to tie-down the front suspension. :(

I would like to take you up on your offer of going out to take a look at it, that is if you are still up for it? The seller gave me his phone number, could you PM me yours?

I agree with Rick & Rich, looks like a nice trailer and couple nice features. Also agree the front doors are nice to have, not sure how difficult it will be to get to the front tie-downs.
I didn't see a spare tire (may be inside?) and I'd plan on adding some additional/extended brake & turn signals to the rear of the trailer. Those mounted on the fenders may be more difficult to see.
But otherwise it looks very good and a good price. Did he say how old it is?

I would jump on that. If y'all notice, there is no front tool box blocking that front zippered door. That's where you go to reach your front tie downs. The extended tongue is nice too, and allows for easier backup of the trailer as well as extra clearance from the two vehicle. 14" tires/rims are odd....but, he may have not measured those correctly. It's not a steal, but, it's a fair price. I would offer $3,200 and pay Rick $300 to bring it back with him :D

Thanks everyone. Rick indicates that he would swing by and look at it for me. I have talked with the seller multiple times and hopefully it all works out in the end.

Rick can look but can not tow it back because he has his car and trailer to tow back and they frown on tandem towing with two bumpers mounts.

I dont think you will be able to use over the tire straps with out being a contortionist with no side doors so you will be crawling under the front end trying to fish straps through the frame.
