Top Gear on BBC

I watch it on the interwebs every now and then. They pretty much hate everything American. The cars that they get excited about seen to be over 250K.

My favorite "Car-Porn" show used to be Victory by Design. The best filming, sound, host, and they covered the history of marques. A stunning program.

Top gear is one of my favorite shows! I loved VbD but it is not on any longer. Top Gear had Jay Lenno on recently.

Have the 2010 episodes completed for the season? I can't figure out what's new and what's not, just started watching this show, so they are all new to me. I caught the one with Jeff Goldblum on it, and that's the last new one that I've seen. I've been recording the US version, and watched the first episode, eh, not impressed.

I've been recording both the British and American versions. I have to say the British version is much more entertaining and I've laughed out loud at most episodes. The American version, not so much. Two of the three hosts think they are funny, but not, and one is pretty full of himself, but strangely I like him the best  However, I'm watching an episode now where the British version came to America and are driving a Cadillac CTS-V, Corvette ZR-1 and a Challenger (that they had to buy because Chrysler was afraid they would trash the car). The show isn't quite as entertaining, and I think I figured out why. You watch the British version and it seems that they get away with a alot more there. Everytime they come here, they get stopped by the police, and you can tell there are things they want to do, but can't. So, contrary to what I've always thought that the British were sticks in the mud, I think America is really. Too many rules, regulations and such. Anyway, anyone know when the new season starts?

x2 for the British version.

The US version just doesn't have the same panache as our friends from across the pond.

I've recently signed up for Netflix and found seasons 9 - 12 on there. I really can't put a finger on why it's better. Is it the setting? Is it the hosts? The production? Not sure, all I know is the end result is I'm entertained.

Is the netfix streaming, or on DVD? I couldn't find it on the streaming.

I am hooked on this show. Some things are kind of quirky like a trunk being called a boot, hood being called a bonnet and worst of all aluminum being called al u minum  but they really do have a great sense of humor. More than I give the Brits credit for I may add. I watched an episode from season 10 featuring the worlds smallest car (http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/81206596/) too funny. Really enjoying the episodes on Netflix :D

I watch it on youtube sometimes. They have a very high production standard. Very artsy - and I like it.

I also like very much the older series - Victory By Design. Pure Car Porn - and very British.

After spending most of my summers in England as a young lad visiting my grandparents (moms side) it was apparent to me that the english humor was far drier and sarcastic than it is here and there shows are hilarious.

So, the new series premiered tonight, on BBC2, which I don't get  Here's a brief video from the first episode.
