Miata-based Catfish Speedster Coming to SEMA

Don't know the cost, but if you could pick up a cheap Miata, this sounds like it would make an awesome track car!
weighs in at about 1,500 pounds!

Too pretty to track. But looks awesome. It also accepts LS2 engine. I wonder what "standard" body shells might fit that frame.
 
So, here's the Miata I'm looking at, not sure how much it would take to make it a spec racer. Think I will get on the forum and ask. Miata for sale
 
Go for it. Looks like a fun winter or father/son project. Could be ready by spring. If you end up hating it - unload it at the track. Seriously - looks like it might be kinda fun.
 
Cool car Rich, but I think he'd be more afraid of tearing that one up.

The Miata looks like a great track car and that roll cage looks bullet-proof.
So what makes a Miata a Spec Miata?
