The Formula car would be fun, but can't be run at most HPDEs. Now the Ginetta is a brand I haven't seen before. I took a brief look around and I think I'll look at it some more.

Paul gave me a Grassroots Motorsports Magazine, Steve, you should check it out. Some other cars to consider:
Viper Stohr - 1065 lb car with you in it.
Supersport - ok, a little out of your price range
Take a page from Bill Neil's book and buy a used NASCAR
Proven performance Miata based car - Exomotive
Ford powered Rossion
This shows the Factory Five 818 being built by Grassroots Motorsports - 818 Build
Fastcraft Motorsport car
This should keep you busy for a while

I did, but as Steve said, open wheel type cars aren't usually accepted at track day events. Clue: Vipers are....that is all
