Kerry, just saw this, nice deer! Um, what kind of gun is that?

Argentina dove hunt, anyone interested? Guaranteed to shoot 2500 rounds/day. $1,500 covers everything but roundtrip airfare. You don't get to bring the meat home, but you get to donate to a local food pantry and eat it while there.

Do they supply the gun? Does it come with a water cooled jacket?
Can you imagine how sore your shoulder would be after 2500 rounds

They DO supply the gun. You should learn how to shoot from both sides. In the afternoon, you hunt Parrot's, yeah, those really colorful birds we call pets. Apparently, they are overrun with them. Don't think I could shoot one though.

It's a Hunting Rifle...
It is a gun I built from parts based on a lower receiver assembly from an AR-15 using a different barrel and bolt in a 6.8 SPC (Special Purpose Cartridge) rather than the original military 5.55 (.223).
The round was developed for use in Afghanistan by Special Forces and is being considered as a replacement for the current .556 round used by the Marines and FBI. There are currently small SF units using the round in Afghanistan because the .556 is not an effective man stopper past 300 meters. The .556 loses too much energy with only a 55 or 62 grain bullet.
What makes the 6.8 SPC unique is that it is short enough to fit a M16 magazine yet it uses a .270 caliber 110 grain bullet and a fast burning powder to achieve 80% of the power of a .308 (7.62 x 51) yet has half the recoil and uses half the powder. It also has a trajectory that is identical to a .308 yet fits in the current M16 / M4 platform. This would allow retrofitting existing M16's and M4's to the more powerful 6.8 by simply changing barrels, bolts and magazines. All other parts can be retained. An obvious cost savings for the Government.
The bottom line is that the 6.8 SPC a near perfect deer hunting and home defense cartridge in a light, accurate weapon with excellent ergonomics and proven reliability. This particular weapon will shoot .70" three shot groups at 100 yds off sandbags.
This is my shooting house at the farm where I can cover up to 600 yds South, 200 yds East and 250 yds North. The house is insulated / all weather with sliding Plexiglas windows. I target shoot from it and use it during bad weather during deer season. There are T posts every 100 ft down the middle of the field with ribbon tied every 100 yds for quick range estimation. The deer I've killed the last two years were taken from this position as well as a number of Coyotes.

Wow, didn't know you could build guns. So, based on above, how come they don't just produce a gun as you've described? That is one nice deer stand too!

There are multiple manufacturers that do as they are trying to obtain possible contracts from the military. The issue is that I can build a 6.8 SPC AR a lot cheaper than buying one. Plus I can tailor it to my own needs.
I have been building my own rifles for years... The only caveat is that they have to be for your own use. I guess that's why my collection is out of control...

If you have the proper tools it's really very easy...a little tedious at times...but easy.
I can assemble one to the point of test firing in a little more than an afternoon, if I take my time.
