The Great Race

4 or 5 years ago while returning from the Cobra gathering in Ohio the Great Race was also headed west on a section of highway 70. There were people on side roads and overpasses waiting for them and we got a lot of waves and hollers too. We passed a lot of really neat old cars that day.

Thanks Tom. So, looking at the prices....who's going to sponsor me :D

I think it would be a wonderful opportunity for Verizon. Seriously, I think that people are so sick of the phone wars and the commercials that eat up 20% of every show that we pay very little attention to them any more. Your car dressed up with the corporate logo would be a refreshing change for anyone that saw it and technically you would be working so Verizon would cover your food and lodging as well. Get that proposal letter going right now :).

Tom, that's a thought ;)Do they ever do this thing closer to St. Louis?

The route changes every year. You should be able to run it from anywhere since the corporate name is nation wide right? They never have Cobra's that I've seen in any magazine coverage so surely you would get an interview and a picture or two. Hell, you could seed the thing by alerting TV stations about stopping points along the way to get local coverage / advertising. You could start anywhere in the country and have someone follow the route with your trailer so you had spare parts and a safe/dry place to park every night. Hey you can dream, Verizon is paying for it right.
