I'm not going to comment about the speech - but for some reason my TV was on MSNBC afterwords - and Chris Mathews - referred to West Point as an "enemy camp" for the setting of the speech. Then he is spending the next hour or so - defending the use of the term.

No matter what you think about the wars, the president, the military, the policy, the dems, the republicans, or bowing in public - calling West Point an Enemy Camp is insane. Now, you may say that in the context of his visit and speech and his well known view of the war ... blah blah blah - it's crazy.

Remember when Rush Limbaugh made a comment about a QB in the NFL being black - and he was fired the next day. Remember when Howard Cossell made his "monkey" comment? Gone the next day.

Anybody think the this boob will get fired tomorrow?

Also - can't resist - the speech was nuts. Same dribble we've heard for years. Different face, words re-arranged a bit - same crap.

MSNBC is the enemy camp! The cadets were sitting at attention (yes, there is such a thing). Backs straight, hands forward in the lap, no talking, no smiling. Had they done anything different they would have been subject to discipline. Chris Matthews is an idiot as he himself proves time and time again. I expect an apology from him by the end of the day and then it will go away. The speech time was spent telling the enemy that by the time we get everything in place for the mini surge it'll be time to pull out. All we are doing is sending 30,000 targets.

I watched the speech on Fox...they panned in on several cadets nodding off...did any other networks do the same? It was not a great reception for the Commander ...only two applauses and no standing "O"'s

Liken the strategy to a major leauge ball team that announces their plan to win the division title as well as the world series but telling the opposition they will only play 9 innings regardless of the score at that time.

I don't think telling the enemy what your strategy is going to entail is very intellegent.

The speech was very academic. I would have a problem following this Commander in Chief into battle. No military or leadership experience !

I just hope and pray that military leaders can do the job that needs to be done with the "resources" (men and women) given them.

Hannity had the rules of engagement for the troops on his show
....they were sad as the soldiers on the front line have thier hands tied.
We must support our leaders strategy as he is the decision maker,
but please pray for our troops each and every day.
