The 2009 Point Chase has officially begun.
There will be cash awards exactly 365 days from now for the top 3 point winners. How much you say? How about 200 bucks for first place and 100 each for second and third place. Interested now?

To play - first go out to your Cobra and record your current mileage. Then go to the forum and record your current post count. E-mail those 2 numbers to me. Second go to the following link and download the Point Chase categories.

You'll find that there are lots of ways to accumulate points - even for those that aren't driving yet.
BTW - this contest is open to paid members only. Also, there are a few categories that depend on the honor system, but that shouldn't be a problem - right? For questions, or comments feel free to contact me or Tim.

I think this is going to be fun. Also, since this is the first time for this, if you think another category could be added - just let me know and we'll add it to the list.

Good morning. Put me down for 0 miles on the body, 0 on the engine and 57 posts. I really need to be more sociable.
 
Log me in at 1848 posts not including this post & 1849 if you count this post. I will check my mileage when I get home & edit this post.
 
I am retired and have a lot time on my hands....guess the first thing in morning and last thing at nite is to post some trivial bs so I can keep up with the counselor.
I will be going on the Hot Rod Power tour so that is worth 3000+ miles and what ever I drive to shows in the area.
Maybe just put it on jack stands, 5th od set the throtle to 2000 and let er run.
 
You guys can't follow directions to begin this contest!!! How can we trust you to follow them throughout the contest???

Please do NOT include my name with those who are "participating/competing" in the "points contest." My involvement/participation in the club has and will continue to be for the sake of fun and friendship. I believe strongly in the importance of the four "Fs." Friends, Family, Faith & Fun.

Download the form (from the first post) - and you'll see that there a lot of ways for all of our members to earn points.
The mileage and post counts are small point categories - more like a tie-breaker.

As for the Power Tour - you'll have the possibility of earning a bunch of points for that - i.e. multi-day event, posting photos, wearing GCC logowear, etc.

I know you wanna play - just download the form to see all of the possible ways to get points. I think everyone will be able to accumulate points. It'll be fun. Just send me your mileage Bud!

Out of respect for you my dear friend I will play. However, I want it known from the outset that IF I "win" anything that it will be donated to an organization to be chosen by Keith & Debbie which is dedicated to treating & finding a cure for autism. My milage is 5,188.2.

So What's Up - Clue me in

I have only 11 replies for this. Maybe I made it seem like too much of a "contest". I know we are all easy going folks (that's one of the reasons I think this is such a special group). So, let me emphisize that this is for fun, and not a competition. If it needs to be adjusted, or dropped - that's OK with me. I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable. Just let me know. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. PM if you want.

BTW - has anyone downloaded the categories?

Also - has anyone downloaded the graphics?

Finally - is anyone interested in a group purchase for some club sweatshirts?

Downloaded both, seems to me like it is a lighthearted way to give some ribbing to fellow members about getting involved.
 
I went to the garage to get my mileage last night and ended up grabbing the California duster. When I was finished I stood back to admire my work and forgot to check the odometer. I'll try again tonight

Really?? Please, Please don't take it that way. Just wanted to have some fun. Don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.
 
Snowed under at work right now due to my winter hiatus in FL. for nearly 2 weeks intend to get it done shortly. BTW It looks like the start of the 2009 points chase has generated a lot of posts. I say good! Keep it up everybody. Enjoy. :)
