Went over to Gateway last night to see Dave from Fastlane and Steve F run the 1/4 mile. I got there around 7, and they had already started. I saw Dave come up to the line, do a burnout, take the light, and blauhhh the car just fell on it's face. He backed it out, got out of the car and they left. I asked him what he broke, he didn't know, said it wouldn't pull.

Steve came up a few cars later and ran a solid 12.1, twice. He is consistent. His 6th run didn't go well as his electrical system failed before he got to the line. I jumped him off, and followed him to 270/44. The car ran fine to there, I assume he made it home ok. Not sure what happened there. Possibly bad altenator or bad cell in the battery. The engine bay was awfully hot. Anyway, here are a few pics and a video of Steve. It is for sure a run what ya brung crowd.

Dan came over and said "hi". He asked me if I knew you. I said "NO WAY". :-)

It was a bit lonely there without any other Cobra drivers in the race. How come you didn't come over?

Thanks to Tim for taking the videos and more importantly helping me out with the electrical problem.

Everything is fine today. I suspect I just drained the battery while idling with my fans and brake lights on.

Why not? Worst I've ever done was shifted from 3rd to 2nd. Trying to keep the car between the lines and pointed forward was "interesting". Had to replace all of the seals after that experience.

And yes you can run under 12s. Been there, done that.

Don't have a helmut nor is my beast track "equipped." Anybody wanna help me get the stuff I need to start racing Steverino? :D:cool:
 
As I recall, you need helmet, racing suit, arm restraints, gloves if you have a convertible.

Right, Steve?
 
Ummmmmmm. I'll get some stuff. Hopefully get legal. Then I'm comin after ya Stever. :eek: We'll see if I can do better than 12:10. :D Your king of the small blocks for now but ya've got a big red target on your back! :eek::p
