For all of you Superformance owners out there, see this thread.

http://www.fastlanecars.com/Public/Vehicle_Detail.aspx

This is a car Dave has. Yesterday a guy from where I grew up called me and was asking questions what to look for, and problem areas when buying a superformance. He has talked to Fastlane and is interested in this car. Just wants to feel a little more comfortable about pulling the trigger.

Engine guys, anything to look for with the stacks?

Thanks for any feedback. I definatly don't want to mis-lead anyone, but if I (we) can assist Dave with a sale it would be great.

Thank you,

Craig,
I looked at the inventory and I didn't see a Superformance in it. When we were there for the meeting last month I only sw 2 cobras. A black one did have stack injection, but I thought mark said it had a sale pending. Mark and Steve are the resident SPF guys though. From what i saw looking under Mark's car when it was on the lift, it's a well manufactured car.

If Steve's car is any indication of the other Superformance's. They are VERY nice cars. Having driven Steve's this week and riding in Mark's, if I were buying a built car, this would be my first choice. (the stacks are a bonus!) :D

DOH! Thanks Tom! That's the one I saw at the last meeting at Fastlane.

Craig - it's a solid car and looks to be in fantastic shape. There are some minor design differences between chassis numbers (0 to 400, 400 to 1900, 1900 to 2800, 2800 to present). I don't know the chassis number of that car. From a general perspective - the parts are readily available if not from Superformance, then from other outlets. Ask me how I know.

There are some gotchas with SPF like the windshield replacement, and various suspension parts. But nothing to be concerned about at this time. On earlier cars a rear shock mount upgrade is a must, and I will be doing that anyway. We can discuss that later.

The FE is a computer controlled stack injection. Fastlane reports it to be very strong. A set-up like that will probably require some tuning by a local pro, and we have such resources here. Omer is qualified and Competition Marine too.

Although SPF cars are "turnkey" they are hot rods none the less. They'll require attention and adjustment. Make sure your friend would not rather be happy with a new Vette with a warranty and the get in and drive peace of mind. These cars can be cruel mistresses.

The black paint looks great. If your friend plans on putting any miles on the car expect road rash, and also think about a clear protection film - 700 bucks. I had mine done at Dalo here in west county after 1500 miles. I should have done it on day one.

Thanks for the imput guys. He currently has a 33 or 34 ford he plans on selling, so he is not new to a hot rod. From the photos it looks to be an excellent car. I'll pass on the info.

Thanks again.

Quite possible. he is from down around the Steeleville area. Worked at egyptian telephone out of steeleville until he retired. I havn't seen it, but heard it is nice. He called me as a friend of a friend. PM me your number and I'll pass it on. Or I'll ask him if it is ok, to give you his number.

Thanks for all the input I appreciate it. Unfortunatly he has car that he has to sell first. He has a '32 ford 3-window coupe if anyone is looking for one.

Thanks guys. He is still looking around, but I will let him know.
