• For all members (past, current, and new)

THANK YOU ALL FOR HELPING TO GET THIS CLUB OFF THE STARTING LINE !!!

To begin your membership with Gateway Cobra Club please submit your vital information to our club registrar/Treasurer: Paul Proefrock

    Please include your:

Name, address, phone numbers (work, home, cell) e-mail, etc. Also, tell us about your Cobra (make, model, year, colors, engine, options, stage of build, etc.), where you bought it, any other particulars. Also include other vehicles, birthdays, your occupation & company, and any other details about you and you significant others. BTW - this info will not be posted on-line (EVER). It's just for us - to make the club better. We will eventually create a database for internal club use only.

We will begin collecting dues soon to enable the activities that we have planned for the year - so stay tuned for that.

FINALLY - get involved. Attend the meetings, schedule some cruises, and have some fun. We want to make this club fun (for the whole family). We're small (for now) but we're going to make a big noise here in St. Louis. In the end - this club will only be as good as our members participation.

Thanks for joining us - see you in the fast lane!

Hello All!

I'm excited to join the group! My name is Mike Harrison and I recently purchased a new Backdraft Cobra. Photo attached. Don't judge me for the name but I call her Robin Hood because of the colors (British Racing Green and tan interior) and my good friend suggested the name because he says I, "Steal from the rich and give to the poor." I am an attorney and I sue a lot of insurance companies lol. Please also don't judge me for being an attorney! Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully contribute however I can.

I am looking for suggestions on storage for my car during the winter months and wondering if any of you have places you recommend. I purchased the car from Fast Lane and they do not have the space/they do not store cars. Also, I am trying to find a local mechanic--I like to support small business--that knows these cars and works on them. Any suggestions appreciated. I live in Chesterfield, if that makes a difference.

I cannot wait to go on a cruise and meet some of you. I have so much to learn about this car. It has been so much fun to drive. It's addicting.

Cheers.

-Mike

For mechanics, it depends on the work needing to be done.
Alignment - Solo Performance Specialists or Harris Automotive
Oil Changes - your favorite mechanic not named Valvoline Oil change
Tires - Harris Automotive / SPS / Tire Rack
It gets harder if you need engine repairs or tuning... But, there are options. These cars are different than daily drivers and do require some specialized attention. Reach out, someone here has experience with someone that can help you. Welcome to the Club!

Welcome to the club Mike! Beautiful car. Just keep asking questions and posting pics of the car. Let us know if you need any help with anything. Since your running gear and brakes are from a BMW 3 series you if you need any parts for that, you can get them there. Take your time getting used to her. These cars have a tremendous power to weight ratio, so take it easy and enjoy her.

Congratulations on you new car and welcome. As Dan said, take it easy and learn the car, especially now with cold pavement, summer tires don't grip well in cooler weather.

Looks very nice indeed…..BACKDRAFT rocks…I drive BDR924- 2010 build….love it. You will have a ball with this car….WELCOME TO THE CLUB…. Be involved, enjoy the events, cruises and gatherings…Welcome aboard!

Thank you, Tim!

Thank you, Tbull! I will indeed. I have been searching the forum archives and am in awe of how much information is shared. I wish there were more forums like this for other things in life lol.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm not gonna lie. I don't think I will ever "open her up" in any fashion unless I'm at a track. I barely touch the gas pedal and it gives me all the power I need. So much fun to drive. Honestly, just thinking about it puts a smile on my face. I wonder if it will ever get old...

Thank you, Gracie! I will indeed. The folks at Fast Lane literally said: "Get involved with the Gateway Club. They are amazing people and you are going to enjoy your ride so much more because of them."

Welcome to the GCC Mike! Look forward to meeting you and seeing your beautiful Backdraft in person.
Appreciate this! Same. I have been scrolling through photos and all of your cars just look awesome. I don't mind global warming as long as we get Novembers that remain warm like this so I can drive lol. Just wish the sun would stay up longer.
