Information: I asked PCA St. Louis if the Backdraft Cobra with dual roll bars would qualify for their HPDE/DE event at Gateway (WWT) this April 24-26.

Their reply: "unfortunately we don't believe the Cobra Backdraft meets the safety considerations for rollover protection for Porsche HPDEs. Thank you for your interest."

All good! Not a bash but thought I'd get the information out for Backdraft folks (without a full roll cage) who were interested in HPDE/DE with PCA in the STL area.
 
Thanks for the info. it's funny though that other HPDE event don't have issues with cobras. Oh well, their loss.
 
I think the real reason is they didn't want to be beat by a Cobra! (I would bet our 5-point harness and roll-bars exceed their protection! )
 
Depends on the region. I ran with the folks out of Indy over at Putnam....they had no issues but strongly encouraged a HANS and arm restraints...which I didn't have at the time, so, ran with the Novice group, which I was. Was fun passing Porsche's! :D
 
It's all good. Looks like only option is with NASA Central/Great Lakes regions for Gateway on 1-2 May.

Sadly, my car hasn't shipped yet and still in Florida. Just got to be patient I guess :(

Wally, I'm in Florida you want me to go test drive your car before it shipped. What about Chin racing, they do Sebring.

hahaha thanks Rick! Chin does Sebring (thumbs up).

I don't think the "Cobra" has any issues with other trackday clubs, maybe the Porsche club is more "particular" lol
