The 2011 autocross scheduale is set and it looks like I can make 8 of 10 events (I will miss events 4+9). The new site is Family arena in St Charles so bring out the Cobra and give me some competition and learn to really drive that beast. The guys and gals would be stoked to see an army of Roadsters show up sometime.

Here is the scheduale:

Sunday, April 03, 2011 Solo Series Event #1

Sunday, April 17, 2011 Solo Series Event #2

Saturday, April 30, 2011 Solo Novice School

Saturday, May 07, 2011 Solo Series Event #4

Sunday, June 26, 2011 Solo Series Event #5

Is there a website to get more infor?
Please post.

Do you have to be a SCCA member to participate?
Is it recommended?

What are the associated cost with this event(s) and membership?

I'll come to some of these if you come to a road course :D The enjoyment I get out of road courses is speed, followed by heavy braking, followed by more speed and repeat. Not many places I can run flat out and not worry about hitting anything. I guess I really just enjoy going fast. Not sure autocrossing does this for me. I did it over at RNG a couple years ago, and it seemed very confusing. Come on Mike, sell me on doing this :)

Here is the STL solo website: http://stlsolo.org/

You do not have to be a SCCA member. If not you have to buy a weekend membership for $15 which is the best bet for casual racers. The entry fees are not yet set for 2011 as the expenses to rent the Family arena are more than Gateway. The price should be between $35-40 plus the weekend membership for a total of $50-55. They like for people to join the SCCA for the steady income, but weekend memberships are very welcome. They just love to share the sport with new drivers! Best part is that there are some national level drivers that will ride along and tell you how to make you and your car faster.

I do want to run a road course bad. My concern is my current setup tends to oversteer and we have spun the car going 50 mph. The same spin at 120 mph would not turn out as well. When I get a handle on the oversteer and pickup a trailer I will do Putnam...promise! If someone would be willing to lend a trailer then I only have 1 obstacle to overcome.

Anyone that comes to an event with me I will walk the course with you and show you how to drive it. I always walk it 2-3 times. I will then give you a ride in the Coupe to show it to you at speed. I can then ride along and coach you through the course in your car. No more confusion!

BTW here is a sneak peak of things to come:

Your car runs on Pepsi?! Is that a vacuum cleaner next to it? I'm sure we can find you a trailer and I'm not sure how you would spin out at 50 from the ride I took with you it stuck like glue.

Now I have even more reason to get mine done. Miss the racing big time. Whats the evo school?

Mike,
How will you plumb your exhaust to the turbo, will you have to give up the headers?

I just bought a pair of BBK shortie headers. I will come out of those into the turbo and then probably through a single 3" magnaflow and dump out the right side behind the front tire.

The Coupe side pipes have a couple of problems. 1st is they limit flow to the tune of a 70hp loss on a 400hp engine. It would be closer to 100hp with the turbo. The other is that the noise dumps right next to the rear wheel well which sets up a resonance in the hatch area. The car is not very loud outside but is much louder inside. As HP and noise increases, the resonance will only get worse. I plan to do some sound mapping to decide where the best exit for the exhaust will be. I figure the further I can get the exhaust exit from the rear the better. I am not too worried about fumes as I will eventually convert over to E-85.
