Looks like an FFR to me.

Anyway - for sale by a famous St. Louis Pitcher - that has to go - any guesses?

Saw it ....

Mark, I saw this one when I was looking. We're huge cardinal fans, but I couldn't do the automatic transmission. My lovely wife would want to drive it then and I can't afford two of these. Or can I? Hmmm.. 50% off. She likes sales and the cards would go with her red theme and i wouldn't have to get her that Mustang. Got to go....
 
I've ridden in that car. Built by Overkill Custom out of Sparta IL. Very nice car. But the owner of the business, (who has built several cars for him) assurs me that he (pitcher) sold that car over a year ago. Seems like someone may be trying to get a little fame to help them sell it. Notice that it add says built for, not selling for. Actually the owner built it for himself to help kick off his hot rod building, so as not to be just another body shop. Then decided to put it in Gateway Classic cars and sold it through connections made there.

For that price, what does it have in it? A 4 cyclinder from a Honda Civic? Is it also front wheel drive? Too drop the price that low, something doesn't make sense to me.:confused:
 
That is just about what it took to build that one. An FFR for 29K, sounds about right to me. I'll have less than that in mine!

Thats about my budget too. And I went with the complete kit which is more to start with.

The economy has not been good to our little cobra's lately. People all over the country are selling for way less than even the parts invested, much less the labor to build one.

Most of us do it as a pashion to own these cool vehicles, not to make money.
 
Sorry guys, didn't mean to offend anyone :(. I agree with your pionts wholeheartedly.

What I meant to say was....I've been studying the cobra market by following the Cobra Country classifieds very closely for the last year. Most of the completed FFR's easily go for between $32k all the way up to $40k+. So when I see a price that low, it raises some flags for me (even with the depressed market).

Feel free to through tomatos at me at my party, I can take it :D

No offense taken by this FFR builder. Unfortunantly, IMHO, the popularity of the F5 (over 6500 chassis sold) and the economy has lowered the price of what people feel these are worth.

I hope you don't take offense to this statement, but I look at the other makes like SPF and BDR and wonder why they cost so much more?

To me the difference is the cost on man hours, skill level (mine is zero). So, to have a car produced to 100% completion by skilled craftsman using all new components has a value. If you could count the number of hours a FFR constructor would spend on their build, plus the time taken for tracking down additional parts, engine/trans and installation - then place a reasonable dollar value on those hours, I'm sure your actual cost would eventually approach the cost of an SPF or BDR. Time is money.
 
My sentinments exactly. We are looking at two different species of car...the customer build up and the roller. I'm like Mark in the sense that I want it as road ready as possible because every time I put something mechanical togehter, I always end up with extra bolts :D On bicycles its OK, but its kinda scary when its something you drive. :eek:

Thats the cool thing about these cars, we all get to do it the way we want and end up with something awesome in the end...and customized exactly to our liking.
 
Ogie, you can't even spell together right much less assemble something together right! :D
 
Ya see....that's right there what I'm talking about.....FAT FINGERS!!! I'm cursed.

With all the finish carpetry work I've completed on my house the last five years, I'm amazed that I still have all 9 fingers.
