Shipping hazardous materials

I'd like to ship 1,000 rounds of .22 ammo to a friend of mine. To do this via UPS the sender needs to have a hazmat account with UPS. Does anyone have such a thing?

Kerry - do you have any suggestions?

There is no hazmat shipping on ammo if it is ground shipped, only by air.
Quote from a site that I use; "Ammunition only requires hazardous shipping charges when shipped Air Service - there is no Hazardous Material Charge when shipping Ammunition Ground Service."

Hazmat on powder or primers ,not ammo.

No Hazmat charge is required for loaded ammo.

You do need an ORM-D label affixed to the shipping box.

I am not aware of any requirement that the shipper must have a Hazmat account...but have not shipped ammo...only received.

If you read it, it says that it can be shipped by ground only without the hazmat fee, if by air then you pay the fee.
