The WebServer we use was upgraded to a higher level operating system. If you see any glitches, would you let me know

Thanks

Paul

. . . Any way to make it where we can simply "like" a post?

Good news and lots of bad news -

  • There is a 'Like' button - it appears just below the 'Reply to Thread' at the top of the page, but .
  • It only works on the public pages. It is a FaceBook link and if FaceBook can't get to a thread (Private Area), it won't show the button

Our forum software has us in a bind.

  • There was a plug-in that could be added, however it won't run on our version of the software
  • it is at end-of-life and is not being updated anymore. More and more features are dropping off due to privacy and inter-operability with newer server systems. We are probably a year away from being forced into something else.
  • The next version of vBulletin software won't run our forum in the manner we wish. On top of that, vBulletin has pretty much been dropped by the developers and users. Everyone is migrating to Xenforo. For the most part, vBulletin is dead.
  • We could migrate to different software, but that involves time and money - maybe later this year ? ? ?

Some think FaceBook is the way to go however Fb has similar issues, does not store past threads so once you've seen it, it is very difficult to find it again, and is very intrusive with ads. Fb is a whole 'nother set of issues, many of which can't be overcome.

I bet you're sorry you asked, but perfect lead-in to get out info on some upcoming forum issues.

Works OK for me. Are you trying the picture icon in the toolbar or trying to add as an attachement? Maybe size related? How big is the picture. Last and probably best - logout, reboot, and try again with a different picture
